sarymclary wrote: »Hi everyone! I've returned here after a few years away (I think it was 2014?) and the pounds have crept back on, and SW seems to always work for me as I have a big appetite.
I'd like to join in the challenge please, and put me down for 8lb which I think is sensible and hopefully achievable.
I was going to join online yesterday, but looking at my budget for the month, it may have to wait a few more weeks as I'd like to do the 3mth membership with magazine and books, and that's £50 atm. I have 2 lots of old books from 2010 and 2013, but understand the plan has changed somewhat recently, however they will have to do for now, and I'll keep a close eye on what everyone else is doing too.
I'll admit I've been a complete piggie in recent weeks, and yesterday I just ate everything, to the point that I couldn't wait to stop eating today. I find I have to do that to kick-start myself into disliking 'bad' food. Ridiculous really. Anyway, today is the start of returning to a better way of eating, and both me and my OH are ready for it (despite him not really being overweight).
Enough waffle from me, here's what I've had today:
Brunch: porridge HEB, milk from HEA, 1 tsp sugar 1 syn with tinned apple (uncooked) 1.5 syns
Dinner: hm turkey & veg soup (allowing 2 syns for gravy for thickening)
Snack: small piece of hm banana flapjack - 2 mouthfulls = 5.5 syns & satsuma
Extra syns: 2 x dolce gusto cafe au lait = 4 syns
Total syns: 14
It's a bit low on speed food, although the soup was jam packed with veg.
Tomorrow I am back to work, so going to have to plan what I am going to eat during the day. I'm going to look online for some inspiration. Work can be quite stressful, and I think it has definitely contributed to me gaining so much weight this year - I was a stone lighter a year ago. Ironically my boss is the complete opposite and stress stops her eating - we are like fatty & skinny!
Hiya, i’m trying to sign up online (after 2 years away) and just wondered how you got the membership down to £50 with the books? Is there a special code? Thanks

My daughter is going to start doing slimming world for 2019.
I told her I’d read somewhere there were a lot of changes recently.
I don’t suspose there is a post that sort of captures them?0 -

Good morning, It’s beautiful weather here, icy but blue sky all around. Dog walk promised to my Lab after we go shopping.
Today’s food:
B. Ryvita ham smear of pickle
L. LO jacket, mixed veg
T. Ham, fried egg, mixed veg.
Not sure of new Syns values until I go to group on Thursday so just being sensible. Likewise HEA/Bs.
Milk in teas and coffees.
Going to read through all the posts since I posted yesterday, might need one of those coffees to help me.0 -
Morning everyone. Back at work today and have no motivation whatsoever to be here. Did manage to get to the gym before I came in; focused on the arms today.
B - Porridge (HEB and 1/2 HEA), strawberries and blueberries
L - Last of the LO Turkey Curry (turkey, chopped tomatoes, peppers, onion, spices), rice
D - Jacket potato with tuna and cheese (HEA), salad (leaves, tomatoes, cucumber, beetroot, pickled onion)
Can't get used to the 2 HEA's, doesn't seem quite right to me but i'll take advantage of it where I can! Hope you're all having a good day.Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20170 -
Today's plan
He a milk
He b bagel thin (new one, soft seeded from New York bakery)
B banana
L Tom soup (4) bagel thin
D turkey meatballs with couscous (again from new mag) strawberries and total 0% with some skinny syrup stirred in.
Syns/snacks orange, maybe a mince pie for supper (they are calling me and if I don't plan then I might eat 2)
I also agree with HM soup being the best but Heinz cream of Tom is my fave and again I thought if I account for it and plan then it will do no harm.0 -

Hello, I don't think there's a post as the changes are very new and we are all still getting to grips with them ourselves. The 'biggies' I suppose are that we can now eat two Healthy Extra As rather than just one, and that the syn values have changed on a few things, most notably Muller Lights are now 1 syn rather than Free. Your daughter's best bet will be to attend a session or sign up online, where she will be given the full list of Free foods, Healthy Extras, and Syns.Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0
