    Good evening....

I have been deliberating most of the day as to what I should have for my Dinner...What I should have is a maid at home so that I don't have to think of these things.

Me too Marmite. For a while when the girls were small, OH stayed at home and I went to work full time. Coming home to my tea cooked was bliss - unfortunately he got fed up before I did!
.. O dear....It was only a small piece...I didn't know it could be so much...I threw the box away so I do not know which make...It was a bluish colour not a supermarket own brand...

If you have an Aldi nearby, they do a frozen lemon sole, I think it's dusted rather than breaded. It's very nice and I think 3.5 syns

*Thought I'd add how I make my carbonara for any newbies who might think it's too creamy to be syn free. I use bacon (fat removed), onion and mushrooms (controversial but I love them and they're speed - they do make the sauce slightly grey looking though!), and I beat an egg with about a tablespoon of fat free fromage frais and black pepper for the sauce, which makes it Free. Stir the sauce into hot cooked pasta then add the bacon etc last. I buy a big carton of fromage frais and freeze small portions of it so none gets wasted. Obviously now we can add in parmesan or other cheese as part of HEA too which will make it even tastier!

Thank you so much for this. Pre SW one of our family favourites was a leek and bacon pasta dish. I had tried a sauce with quark but I really don't like the taste of it so it'll be back on the menu next week.

Well done Bozwood, pollyanna and chocomonsta and keep going SarahC74 - it will come good!

GTQ congrats on your PPI win - I got one last year which paid off my last remaining debt (car) leaving me debt free for the first time in over 35 years. I found the whole process very straightforward. I'm now trying to claim back the tax I paid on it which, as most things with HMRC, is definitely not straightforward!

Todays meal plan (I forgot that I was working this am so not a very good start)
    B Banana
L ham sandwich, yoghurt, orange (2 for spread and yoghurt)
    D Veggie lasagne and salad

Snack - Aldis lentil curls, (4.5)

    Have a good day!

As long as you realise that your weight loss won't be as successful doing this; don't let slow progress put you off SW altogether because when you stick to it consistently it does work.

That said, I cracked last night and had three bags of Hula Pufts (10.5 syns) :o I did manage to stop myself before eating the rest of the multipack though and that is a massive achievement for me :o. I was low on syns on Monday so hopefully I might get away with it.

Did you mention this in response to my cold sore? It's weird isn't it, we're meant to be glowing with health! :rotfl:

I love that: "Just for today", makes everything seem much more manageable.

I've done my C25K Run 2, it was freezing! Muscles are starting to protest all the exercise a bit now so going to run myself a hot bath with some epsom salts - the perks of unemployment.

    Today:
    B - Banana
D - Salad as yesterday: Tuna, boiled egg, carrot, beetroot, cucumber, cherry toms
    T - Carbonara*
HEA - Milk, maybe 20g low fat cheese on my pasta (that's 1/4 the total allowance)
HEB - Not sure, maybe some pumpkin seeds on my salad?
Syns - Sugar in coffee (4), hot choc (2) = 6 - hopefully leave it at that after yesterday's indiscretion!
    Exercise: 2 mile run/walk

*Thought I'd add how I make my carbonara for any newbies who might think it's too creamy to be syn free. Right I'm off for my bath, have a good day all!

Wasn't going to quote your entire post, but then realised I wanted to comment on a few thing of what you said, so thought s0d it, haha.

I get that I'm not being strict with syns, but I have reduced my alcohol intake :o a lot (trying Dry January) and this used to make me stupid amount of crisps, so I was hoping they would balance each other out. But I shall see.

Just finished a pack of Hula Hoop Puffs and I could have eaten more, but I didn't. And although I did have pigs in blankets for lunch, they were small, homemade and the rest have gone in the freezer! It's still better than what I used to eat.

Re C25K, I will be doing W9R2 tonight. Honestly can't believe I have come so far, but am genuinely loving it. Especially now I am on continuous runs. I found the stop / start of the beginning runs frustrating, but totally necessary to get you through it!

And finally, love the carbonara. Have copied and pasted that as I struggle with "Meals for One" on the weekends when I don't have my children and usually opt for a pizza in the oven.

    B - Coffee x 2
    Banana

    L - 2 x Pigs in Blankets
    Pineapple Salsa
    Muller Light Greek 0% Yogurt
    Hula Hoop Puffs

D - Meatballs (as one of my kids likes it in gravy and the other tomato, to save on waste, I just eat whatever they don't!)
    Noodles of some sort
    Baby corn

    S - 2 x Tea
    Alpen Bar
Pink Sproglettes born 2008 and 2010
    Mortgages (End 2017) - £180,235.03

Yes it was me! :wave I can only imagine that all that unhealthy food was acting as a better preservative.

Thank you for the carbonara recipe - that's definitely one I will be using, as I LOVE carbonara.

Two of my friends did the C25K and one of them did the London Marathon last year, and the other is doing half marathons (both in their 40's I might add and having never run before).

    Great loss Bozwood:j

Well WI this morning was a steady -2lb loss for me. I think I was still gaining weight from NYE up until last weekend, so I'm glad the scales finally went into reverse gear.

B - porridge HEB; milk from HEA sugar (1)
L - wholemeal thin (5) and sliced chicken. Marg (2)
D - Not sure what I'm having yet. Might be stir fry? Will update later
    snacks: apple; satsuma

    Have a good day everyone.
One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

Be nice to your children, they'll choose your care home

  • Just stopped for lunch having finished painting a bedroom...Well, it is actually my gym...Just need to fit a couple of doors on a built in cupboard and get some blinds and that will complete that room....

It's difficult to plan meals other things get in the way....I have not a clue what to have for my dinner tonight so any suggestions would be appreciated....Cupboards are full of most things....I like cooking so it does not have to be out of a tin...or a box unless its ingredients...please and thank you...

    B Porridge sachet/half banana....Two mugs of tea(unsweetened)
    L Homemade chicken/bacon and veg soup...About a pint
D yet to be decided with help:D

Remainder of day I drink black coffee (unsweetened)
If I want a snack I have Oranges or I like tomatoes on Ryvita..

Tete - because I am a bit thick. Have been reading your recipe. Do you cook the fromage frais and egg?

Well, I beat them together in a little jug then drain the pasta and put it back in the hot pan, then stir in the egg and FF over a low heat. Too high a heat will scramble the egg! Make sure you keep stirring so it doesn't stick, then stir in the other ingredients. You just want to coat the pasta really and heat it all through.

I'm feeling the pressure a bit with a few of you saying you'll try it - hope it's actually nice and not just my weird taste! I was looking for an alternative to quark as I too hate the taste, fromage frais is a bit less pungent.

What is W9R2? I've googled it to no avail! I'm guessing walk 9 run 2 (minutes)? Is it an alternative to C25K? I've actually been running for eight years next month, but have had recurring injuries following a sprained ankle for the best part of the last two years so I'm really trying to ease myself back in gently (last time I got overexcited when my ankle didn't hurt anymore, ran 15 miles in a week, and was out again for about another four months with some sort of sprain across the tops of my toes :() I did C25K when I first started running so I have faith in it. So far so good!

Marmite that is very hard to answer without knowing what you actually have to hand! Why don't you go to your fridge/cupboard and pick five ingredients you'd like to use and we can see what we'd do with them?

Well done Bozwood and Sary on your losses!
