First job of the day went to the doctors now on anti biotics been ill since November so decided not wanting to carry on next year with it. Made appointment for Ds1 to discuss sick note, made diabetes review appointment, ordered prescriptions and bought myself some trousers and a dress thing as I went to put my only black trousers on to find a huge bleach stain. Funeral to attend soon and ASDA had a sale. I got into ASDA clothes no specialist shop needed which was nice :) went to the butchers too mainly for rolls and DS2s favourite pies from the butchers where we used to live as it’s near Asda

I want / need to empty my utility as the washing machine is leaking, wouldn’t be Christmas holidays here without something broken that’s why I started going away!!

Best get a wriggle on. Still not speaking to KH

Well done Valli :) I’m about 2 on now but only weighing at home now
One day I might be more organised...........

  • Welcome back Dizzy! How're you doing? Boys ok?

    Busy morning here, I have:
    - taken dog to vet for check up
    - completed DH VAT spreadsheets for December and sent to the accountant to check (polishes halo)
    - dumped bag of stuff at CS
    - bought fresh fruit and bread
    - walked the dog and DS :rotfl: (he's 4, he needs wearing out!)
    - cooked and eaten lunch
    - hung the washing out :j

Just slurping a cuppa then will make the pie for tomorrow's dinner. We have a little 'party' planned for tonight, the four of us only, kiddies will love it. I plan to eat cocktail sausages and drink wine

If I don't get back online today, thank you all for being there for me in 2018. It really has been a horrid year and without you guys I'd have been very lonely at times. Xxx

Lil Me, OH and spend New Year apart every year because he wants to be in London to celebrate it with his best friend and I don't. Can your OH go on his own and leave you in peace at home to enjoy it any way you want? I love it, tbh. No-one rings because they're out at parties longing for midnight to come and go so they can leave and go home to bed, having exhausted themselves over Christmas. I just don't bother with it any more.

Welcome Back Skinty and Dizzy! and (((hugs))). You have been missed.

I've been hunting down all of Kelpie's stuff. I'm not getting another dog until this doesn't hurt so much, with many thanks to A Good Friend for helping me come to terms with that. If I did, I'd make a mistake, I think.

I had absolutely no idea just how much space Kelpie occupied, how every cupboard has his stuff over-flowing out of it. I'm washing up all sorts of storage boxes, chucking stuff out, and washing all of the dog blankets and towels along with all the other washing that needs doing. That'll clear out a lot of space, which I'm not going to instantly fill up again, either. I think I need this.

My project for 2019 is Time Management. I've been on all the courses over the years, read all the books and yet regularly run out of time. That has to stop.
    Better is good enough.

I am still here, just. Hopefully the worst of the flare is behind me.

Not going to get a vast amount done this week, as I have 2 whippets here til Thursday; but the bathroom has been blitzed, the kitchen has been semi-blitzed, the BM is on for yet another loaf (I have no idea where Mr Wolf is putting it all....)

We're obviously staying in tonight, we shall do the same as usual - pc gaming til 23:55, stick the tv on for Big Ben, then see how loud the local fireworks are before deciding whether to continue gaming or call it a night. Sunny has a Thundershirt for if he starts getting stressed; Peggy should be fine.

Hoping to get back on track in the New Year; it's just so difficult with Mr Wolf constantly here under my feet.

Anyways.... I likely shan't get back here again today, so have a Happy New Year, Flyladies all. :o
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)
  • I'll be in from the 2nd when the OH goes back to work. Only washing done today was a horse rug which I put on a special wool cycle and didn't realise that my WM doesn't add washing liquid for wool items, no wonder it came out the same as it went in. :wall: On for take 2 now let's hope I can see the difference this time.

The 2018 ironing pile has been cleared :T Food has been prepped for this evening, although hands up here as well for rather being in with the door locked and pjs on.

I have to take DD to her friend’s which is in the “new to me” back of beyond, then be on tenterhooks all evening until I pick her up in the morning. It does at least mean that there will be no alcohol involved for me this evening.

If I don’t get back here later, a very happy new year to you all. I don’t think I could have got through it without you all at times. Xx

    Lamewolf I have whippet envy.
    Welcome back Dizzy and Skinty.
I'm another who loves Christmas (disappointed to see the knitted post box decorations in Hertford have been taken down) but hates New Year. Several years ago I sent Mr N off to a party with friends and sat at home alone enjoying a film, went to bed at 10.30. Such a feeling of relief and freedom . I've even been known to go to a party staying with friends but going to bed at 11.45, Auld Lang wotsit really upsets me.

No flying needed today as we had 2 friends plus my brother round yesterday so tidied beforehand.
Did 2 gym classes this morning.
    1 report checked and emailed.

Jojo I had to laugh too, reminded me of a similar offer from a friend (known to have spares of everything in his horse lorry) to a lady of generous proportions, mid way through a polo crosse practice who galloped over to ask if he had a sports bra. His responding offer was "No, but I can ride behind you and hang on to them for you"....well he is Australian.

ionafan are you trying to share one calendar between you? I use the g00gle calendar as does my brother and Mr N, we just have viewing permissions to see each other's.
Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.
  • Didn't get round to cleaning the bathrooms as I finally went to sleep at about 9 this morning, having had a bath around 6am. Up at 1. Lump of pig simmered and then SC in mulled cider & various herbs and spices. Himself vacuumed upstairs & down. Pig then coated in glaze and just out of the oven to cool [strike]before Himself stuffs his face on it[/strike]. It'll taste a whole load better than when I got one 3 years ago and he took over, just boiling it in water, so it was too salty and tasted of very little else.

He's out hunter-gathering pickles and reduced to clear salad veg. I suspect we'll be eating as soon as he gets back.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.

  • Hi all, hi Dizzy!

Declined party night at local hotel to go for an early meal out and now happily curled up in front of fire. DS and GF to take to pub and collect which is a pain but no chance of a taxi and I am happy to help out.

Parents are coming for lunch tomorrow but I am doing a casserole, can't face another roast. Done a little paid stuff today which was hard going.

Enjoy the rest of 2018 everyone!
