Morning ladies!
I'm back...bruised, battered and weary, but still standing...just.
2019 here I come!
Today is DH's birthday but despite numerous pleadings from friends and family, we are not hosting a birthday/NYE party this year. Lunch at the Steakhouse in Chester and then an afternoon in the garden filling the skip.
I've missed you all xxx0 -

Thank you ionafan xx DS ended his birthday with a birthday cake baked by GF and iced with a photo of him when he was three - thanks to a conspiracy between GF and meHe blew out his candles, but we were all too full for cake last night, so that'll be dessert for tonight sorted then
Paid stuff first - now is the time to remind me that I said that I don't mind working TwixmasPah!
End of year hugs to all.

Monday - New Years Eve,a bit of everything!
Level 1
Remove all the bits and bobs that don't belong here - are you expecting guests and do you have adequate seating? Done, no, yes
Rehoming - find a convenient spot and gather up all the new and existing items that need a home. Spend 10 min sorting into piles according to which room they will go to. Maybe pop them in old carrier bags and enlist some help to "deliver" them to the right homes! WIP, especially DH's
Level 2
Dust and deweb all through downstairs Waste of knitting time! - it's all fine, apart from the crumbs under the DR table
Sweep or vac too See above, will do
Tidy your tree or xmas decs - are all the chocs eaten? Can you dust around / under? Tidy, not quite, yes I can dust under the chocs - but the problem is that if the packet falls open while I'm holding it, it might have to be added to the recycling very soon afterwards
Level 3
Sort through the fridge - any leftovers that need to be binned? Filled the family's tums yesterday
Wipe down all the kitchen counters and the sink It's shining right now, but DH is about to make breakfast....(Yes, I know it's already 9.30 and he's still lounging in bed)
S&S the downstairs loo / cloak. OK, will do!
Extras
- Sort your laundry... Sorted
- Start the ironing! Sort it into 4 piles and do the first one!All done [gloat] including the church tea towels
- Treat yourself to something light and healthy for lunch - do you have time for HM soup? Yes - I fancy spicy lentil and tomato today
My other jobs:- 2 phonecalls
- Create a donations record sheet
- Sort out our calendars
- Send out Toddler Group reminders
- Plan Toddler and KS1 activities for Thursday (includes older siblings and friends)
- Source Portmeirion replacements
- Rosie's walk
- Raid the wool shop
- Knit!
Wishing everyone a peaceful New Year's Eve xx0 -
Got up to make a coffee and flung in the shin beef, carrots, onions and water in the SC along with water. Will adjust later. Coffee slurped and candy crushed.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

Morning all. And welcome back Dizzy and Skinty!:T
I’m baking yet again, in between being a taxi service for DD and other yet-to-be-decided jobs. Towels have been washed and hung up, a small pile of ironing is waiting to be demolished.
Mmmmm - tomato and lentil soup sounds a distinct possibility. Thanks for the idea, Valli.0 -
All jobs essentials and non essentials on my earlier list are done and I did a quick hoover through. Cars only cleaned on outside and dog walk abandoned at the bottom of our street when both dogs refused to go any further. Will try again later.
Going to sort out some lunch now, read the paper and see how much flying I can get done from today's list before our guests arrive around 2 pm.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Been to SW - maintained so that's fantastic!
Pegged out washing
Ironed a maidenful plus a bit. Still some left but that needs to air.
Emptied DW
Been tidying - fancy dishes used on Christmas Day now away. Christmas cake downsized into smaller container; bigger container washed. Other washing up done and left to dry.
Rubbish out; recycling out.
NYE plans changed; friend ill. Staying in with my kids - board games and wine.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
Thank you Honey Bear0
