Spent the morning reluctantly clearing away most of the decorations as we've 3 friends coming to dinner tomorrow and there wouldn't be time, plus it seemed a bit mean to host friend's birthday surrounded by tinsel. We've just left the front door dec which is mainly flowers, 2 banister decs ditto and a small tree in the porch. Put all the Christmassy things I use in flower arrangements in a box for the loft as my flower cupboard and drawers in the garage are pretty full.
Took mil to cafe in a different garden centre to usual and yippee, a good sale of Xmas decs suitable for flower arrangements plus all seed packets 50p each, so I'm happy again.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.0 -
Morning all. Hope you're all ok.
Today I will s&s the sinks etc, keep on top of dailies, walk the dogs, pop into town to take my glasses back and get a work presentation ready for tomorrow.
Have a great day everyone.Spend less now, work less later.0 -

Morning all x
Shift last night was OK. Like a burst baw this morning. Picking DD up at lunchtime so I'll do my messages on the way back. Then it's Christmas tree down and put past. Make a pot of soup and get everything sorted for work/school tomorrow.
Cuppa now see if I can give myself a shake.I'm not a muggle...I'm just magically challenged0 -
Morning. One load of washing done and out to sulk. I did lots yesterday so just normal tidying round today. Out with DD this afternoon, it will be nice to get out of the house for an hour.0

Afternoon all.
ATB - I hope your DS is ok.
I’m just back from a 5 mile walk with a friend to clear the head. We extended it when we got half way - good for the exercise but it has taken out most of the morning.
DH is playing in his shed. DD is just about up. She is in for a shock tomorrow when her alarm goes off AND she actually has to get out of bed.
I’m not sure how to usefully fill the rest of the day. There is some ironing to clear and I will make some soup with the floppy broccoli in the fridge. Everything else just looks too overwhelming to start. Hopefully coffee will sort that dilemma.0 -
I have ironed everything that was waiting to be ironed - sheer pleasure to iron line-dried-very-slightly-damp sheets and pillowcases to pristine smoothness.
Cleaned out Benny Bunny.
Pegged out more washing.
Washed up, left to dry. Emptied DW. Cleaned filter. Flung dubious food that's lingered in the fridge and taken compost bits out.
My bedroom window is open; a maidenful of ironing airing off in there and another downstairs.
And I have poo picked the back garden and am seriously considering mowing it.
ATB Hope you've sorted childcare - I could have done the morning for you were I closer!Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016
Thank you Honey Bear0 -
Thanks guys, Valli I would have gladly taken you up on that! Lovely lovely friend has stepped in to help.
I'm about to go for a walk again, I need the fresh air, a bit nervous about tomorrow, I am covering three Year 11 lessons, I've only done lower school cover before.
DH is happily glued to the sofa with the kids, he's making dinner so I shan't grumble. WM on, DW on, some laundry on the line. DH will iron laterMFW

The dogs didn't want to walk earlier so I'll try again later. Got back from shops to find that DH has done all the dailies and sink cleaning. I have purchased supplies to last a year which means I now have no choice but to sort out the understairs cupboards. This is my prepping for brexit thread challenge. One cupboard is done, just one to go and I must prep my presentation for tomorrow.Spend less now, work less later.0

Afternoon all, One happy bunny here - I've just successfully made a curried parsnip soup in my Instant Pot. Why am I so scared of the darn thing..it has a soup button which is brilliant
I have a feeling that we could be eating all sorts of soup this winter now I've discovered how to make it in the IP.
I had a huge list of things to do this weekend but I am not sure where the time went or how the list grew longer...lol DH is putting all the deccies away in the loft, bless him. Although he does have an ulterior motive - he can't use his office tomorrow unless it's cleared of storage boxes from Christmas.
I'm doing my second load of washing of the day but where does it come from? I've got another load to do after this but nowhere to dry it.. Think things are going to be hung on hangers with pegs and hung up on the curtain pole over the french doors in the living room..
Banjidog is asleep on the new fleece blanket on DH's chair, with Kiwicat curled up behind him on the back of it. Not sure where the other two cats are, think they've abandoned us and gone and hidden.
Right off to have this soup with some crusty bread and a cuppa.
