Hi all x
Got up at 1pm had decided I wasn't doing anything as I'm working at 5. Ended up I've done two washings and hung on the winterdykes. Washed up and generally tidied up making the bed and stuff. Will catch up with my list tomorrow hopefully. Off for a shower and then something to eat before I need to leave!I'm not a muggle...I'm just magically challenged0 -
Thanks, Jazee. I think I'll join you with a cuppa.
In an effort to get myself organised for a one day sewing course in a couple of weeks, I thought I'd get my kit together in good time, ie today. I have just Kondo'd all my sewing kit (not fabric, I have tonnes of fabric and that's going nowhere) but pins, needles and cotton. Oh dear. I won't need to buy anything for several years but at least some has been chucked and some has been set aside for the CS. Still, that's a job that needed doing done.Better is good enough.0 -
Currently writing thankyou cards for the children on Monday.
Having a break because I've got writer's cramp and I've only written ten.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Downstairs cleaned and order restored in the LR and DR. Vacuum cleaner then threw a hissy fit so that has been sorted. Over use obviously.
I made leek and potato soup for lunch with a floppy leek from the veg drawer, then got the kitchen sink more free flowing with a couple of slurps with the plunger.
I spent the morning outside emptying compost from my large trug so that DH could help me move it, and I could then refill it. It’s a job that has been on my Toots list for 6 months, so I’m pleased that I can tick it off. My legs and arms will ache tomorrow though.
Time for a cup of tea now.0 -
Hi all - I'm sitting down with a cup of tea too...just done about 45 minutes of ironing and my feet ache.
DH has been sent off for an MRI scan which will hopefully reveal exactly what's going on in his neck that's causing all the pain, tingling and numbness. I offered to go with him, but it would be a major job as we have nine dogs in the house and I'd rather not come back to a trashed lounge. He says he will be fine - he's had one before, so I'm here in front of the fire with a Doberman on my right, chocolate Labrador on the cushions to my left and a silver mini schnauzer draped across the back of my neck and shoulders, all snoring!
I've been operating a bit like an automaton for several weeks, just getting through each day, but I think the fog and chaos is starting to clear and although I'm dog tired, I'm able to start making plans for this year.
I've signed up to do a nail technician course - just because it appeals to my creative side. Not sure how I'll fit it in, but I will. I need something just for me. That sounds rather selfish, I know.
I'm also juggling budgets to see how I can afford to get all the equipment needed to practice. Who knew you could buy jointed hands with prepared nail beds for nail application?!? So, I'm about to declutter a half hour of time on the internet...0 -
Dizzy, I hope you really enjoy the nail technician course. We all need something just for us.
Dealing with one of those irritating jobs that seldom gets done and will make life a lot simpler. I've cleared the filing tray, which was 6" high, and have re-jigged the household appliance files. Don't know why it takes so long to do little jobs like that; it only took about three hours start to finish and none of it was tricky or difficult. Even managed to squeeze in a few games of mahjong on the computer, the way you do.Better is good enough.0 -
DS has chickenpox
and I now need to try and find someone to watch him on Monday as there's no way I can have the day off.
I haven't done any flying other than clean out and re-lay the fireMFW

One cycle ride done, car bill paid (£64 phew), house dusted and hoovered, all Christmas bits put away, my office tidied, two loads of washing to go over airer before bed, one clean load put away. This took me 4 hours!!!
DS2 to pick up from a party at 12.30 and it looks like my turn. Bit sleepy, staying up till 12.30 might be a challenge!0 -
Evening all.
Slow going yesterday and today as I have been feeling exhausted - possibly one of my strange migraines trying to drag me down - so I have spent both afternoons asleep on the sofa. DH had expressed an interest in going shopping today but we didn't. If he had applied for the reinstatement of his driving licence before Christmas, he could have driven himself to the shops.
Last night, just as I was about to get into bed, his CPAP machine started hissing and he said "That's because the mask has split." Of course he can sleep through the hissing but I can't, so I had to move into the study bedroom - which is still a total mess. Looks like I will be sleeping in here until he orders and receives a replacement mask from the hospital
In revenge, I have ordered some of the Portmeirion plates to replace those he broke when he leant on the cupboard shelf last Saturday, and will give him the bill. They are only seconds, but still not cheap!
I have also managed to declutter another computer job off my Toots list
Will try to clear up this chaos before I have to sleep in it. Might need chocolates first to give me some energy.... I have a box of Thorntons under the tree0 -
Today started well - 4 loads of washing done and hung up (where does it all come from?) daily chores done, then went down hill. I've watched two episodes of the Marie Kondo programme this evening and then sorted pickles chest of drawers, few bits o go out, but mostly it just required folding 'properly' Hubby needs to watch it really, but I'm not sure he ever will. We will leave this planet with my 'goods and chattels' I'm small neat boxes and hubby's mountains of stuff cluttering up the rest. Oh joy!
No idea what tomorrow holds.
Sleep well everyone.Outstanding mortgage: £23,181 (December 19)
