Hello everyone!
Sorry I didn't check in yesterday was online but was so tired didn't get round to posting.
Thank you all for the well wishes for my son, he is getting there
Been shopping today and went over budgetbut at I have full cupboard and fridge and it is all healthy so ready to loose weight on SW!
so not a NSD today but because of that I should bag some NSD's the next few days! I do need to get some fuel as well but will take the over from the shopping and take it out the fuel budget so I won't be losing out.
Made £7 yesterday by selling some of my sons old bits.
Did a frog today of sorting out 5 drawers in my bedroom and 1 cupboard in the kitchen so would that could as 6 :P haha.
Spent the day chilling with my son mainly, lots of cuddles and relaxing between tidying up and sorting through the mountain of washing from Xmas!
Grateful for (yest):
1. Day with my mum
2. Shiny new book at SW
3. Drs sorting out repeat prescription because I had forgot to put it in over xmas
(today)
4. Cuddles from my son
5. Candles
6. My tumble dryer (gets clothes dry quick and provides a bit of heating haha)
Been adding to my 1p saving pot and ticking it off, my son seems to be very interested in this as well, he's only 2 but hoping I can sort of show him saving up? I want to teach him the value of money I know it's probably too early but while he is interested I might as well show him

Make plans for the month – DS2’s bday will mean a Nand0s next weekend . May possibly purchase a Grooopon afternoon tea for myself and OH and Will also add in 1 takeaway towards month end Gave DS1's gf a bottle of pink fizz from stash for her bday today.

List your frogs – Did 2 yesterday + todays' was making a decision on some things to sell or give to CS - they went in CS bag. Now on 4 completed
Little savings Yep – have sto going out 1st monthly. 'Shrapnel' change and £2 coins used for holiday fund- found 1p in smkt - added to piggy bank, along with 50p found in wm
Chill out – Whatever helps you to relax, make time for this – even if it’s only 15 minutes a day Planning on exercise, reading – and ironing! Not very chilled today - have spent 3 hours plus trying to sort non working (again
) wm - have given up and will call engineer tomorrow.
Helping others – If you can, please consider donating to charity or to your local food bank. – 3 brand new items bought as presents and then not given put in CS bag
Always be grateful – Take time every day to think about and write down three things in life that you are grateful for. –Today - seeing a bird of prey hover and then dive down when out and about, a rabbit hopping along in the hedgerow, weather was not as icy today as was predicted!
New to You started a book passed on to me by my mum (gave her back the previous one I'd read) Did spend 75p on 2 Xmas teatowels in smkt (put away for next year) but they are fun and made me smile

NSD 3. Have not been outside the house - will try to get to the post box tomorrow. Meals from leftovers - ends of bags like garlic mushrooms and some wraps that have been in the freezer with sandwich filler (bb 23/12 but it was fine) and some spinach that mum wasn't going to eat (I had some of my own but her's was starting to go soggy).
Changed my sheets, gathered up clothes and kicked/ shoved/ pushed them down the stairs. Filled the washer and put some clothes on the radiator to dry when they put it on. Gathered several bags of recycling/ rubbish/ cs/ things to go back to the kitchen/ things that should be in the kitchen but staying up here I've finished cleaning (may even subtract a couple more bags full just so I can get round easily). Sorted all my pills and bandages.
Pondered over something that is bothering me - my mood has dipped (part way through December). It's mostly the frustration of not being able to get things done because of my ankle but this other thing is bothering me - can't really do much because I don't know how fast the situation might deteriorate or if I can do anything to improve matters.
Need to set out some goals / tasks to see if I can quantify it more - may have questions for the doctor and optician.
Today I am grateful for an entertaining murder drama (based on a real case in the 1920s), for tasty food that many people would have thrown away, for some little bits being 'properly tidy'.My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
No. 33 checking in, hi to everyone..the activity on this thread is amazing
I didn’t run today but did a 2 hour walk with beloved family and friends with all. Nice pub lunch in between. A mindful spend and one I am grateful for. It was a lovely afternoon.
Did some work and reading. Planning next week to try and start the Louise Parker Method and see if I can feel healthy and more able to cope with what life inevitably throws at me. I have diarised meals and exercise...first time ever planning for the exercise and even the meals like breakfast are now planned. Will be interesting to see whether a diary appointment helps me keep focussed.
A TT and that’s about it. Apart from a row with DD2 all good, and even that seems to have blown over. Teenagers eh
Love to all you turtles x0 -

Did not leave the house - sorting car insurances and breakdown cover frogs. sooooo boring. 4 hours. yuck! Anyway. I have the money, it was budgeted for, it is on cc getting me points, will be paid for once the bill comes in, and DH didn't have to do it. Swings and roundabouts.
So frogs munched, that which had to be done was done and completed.
Tomorrow I have to go out and spend money and put cheques into the bank. ~Which will mean taking kids with me and that will mean they will drag me into the shop where they will spend their money on doughnuts. They are obsessed with a new doughnut shop that has opened up - 3 for £5 or their delux doughnuts are £5 for 2 or £3 each. More than half are vegan. DH is just as bad as the kids for it. The apple did not fall far from the tree on this one. Mind you have been stuffed full of apple based puddings since October now........4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

I'm been lurking on the site for a while and stumbled on this thread over the Christmas period. I'm proud to announce that I had my first NSD today, yay! It wasn't easy as it coincided with my first day back at work where I find it hardest not to pass the canteen without grabbing something to nibble on. I bought in bagels and jam from home and ate a leftover tin of soup for lunch. I had a meeting in the coffee shop and brought my own flask with herbal tea and passed on the offer of cakes. I awarded myself with a slap-up fry up with ingredients at home and about to head to bed with a wide grin on my face. Thank you all for sharing your tips and advice.Saving for first home > LISA > Goal (£15000)>£3000 = 20%

Wow this thread has been busy!
Thank you for well wishes, must have worked! Last night I broke my fever, it was disgusting, like something out of a period drama (the sorts where people have consumption and are wrapped in white sheets and bathed in hot then cold water; and a Dr with muttonchops and a thick Yorkshire accent says that it'll be curtains for the patient if they don't break the fever by morning. No? Just me? Ok then). The net result was 2 extra loads of laundry this morning (that's all the pyjamas I own, I got through them all, plus all bedding, and a well aired mattress) - and now my tonsils are like golf balls and I can only eat homemade lentil soup, diluted to a most watery consistency, and jelly. But I feel tonnes better in comparison!
To that end I swallowed a frog and de-christmased the house. Thanks to you turtles I realised that was a frog and did need doing!
Huge Gratitudes:
- sorting out DD's sleep. We took radical steps and it paid off. Grateful for DH who did the legwork in sorting this out, so I could rest
- cheque clearing from the council, cashback for reusable nappies
- for not getting stupidly ill. I've felt like I did yesterday twice before; once with proper flu and once with sepsis. Thankfully I nuked this one (interestingly I opted not to take paracetamol to bring my temperature down and instead rode it out. Felt horrendous but supposedly this is good for immunity, and it was over quicker. Disgusting, but quicker)
Ps. dolly Dr Bronners for 99p, I'm green with envy0
