    Good morning lovely ladies

I'm sitting up in bed, the sun is streaming through the window. It's gorgeous. No doubt cold outside though but I don't mind that. It's the dark grey damp days I can't stand, I quite like cold crisp and bright ones.

LW. I am excited for you. You have done so well. Your dental work can't have been easy but I'm sure it will be worth it. You are making me feel so guilty. I really must make a start and get my teeth sorted this year. I keep putting it off, partly for financial reasons but also, if I'm honest, because I just don't fancy it.

And its great that you are going "hard core" :rotfl: good for you. :D. You will be a new woman. :T:T

Teedy.....you sound like you are going pretty "hard core" too. Go for it girl. Like you I have lots of unused stuff, gadgets, gizmos etc. Last night I dug out my new acupressure mat. I bought it several months ago but just hadnt got round to using it. Anyway I gave it a go and it does seem to help with aches and pains. My shoulders seem much easier today. Going to use again in a minute,

I joined WW last night. They seem like a nice friendly bunch. I have signed up for 3 months rather than paying weekly. Cheaper and hopefully It will help me be more committed.

My goal is to lose 1 stone 9lbs by July 6th.

I'm off out today with a friend. It's a surprise. I have no idea where we are going....:rotfl:

Right better get cracking, have a great day.
  • Morning everyone!

Weigh in at home yesterday showed a loss of another pound, so that's 5 in total since getting back from holiday and deciding to get my bottom in gear. Pleased with that so far, although I am now at the weight I have been stuck to for the last year or so. However, that was without much motivation to eat healthily or work out, so I'm sure I'll be able to break through it this time round. Time will tell!

I really need to work on my posture lately, I keep finding myself sat hunched over and force myself to sit up straight, only to find myself doing it again later! It's marginally better when standing, but I'd love to be able to stand "confidently" if that makes sense?!

Much less achy from squash today, so will be visiting the gym again this evening and then coming home to do some hair and face masks - my skin definitely needs some TLC at the moment!

    Happy Tuesday xx

I couldn't agree more about posture and confidence SSDD23. If you're slouching it looks as if you're trying to hide in the corner and make yourself invisible. LL is a big advocate of good posture. I can't even read the word on here without sitting up!!:rotfl:

Well done for joining the Slimming Clubs last night. Making that start and the commitment can often be the hardest part. That goal is quite doable LL. I averaged 1.5 lbs a week but you'll often get a really good loss in the first week as it's such a big change.

Unfortunately though SSDD23, it's also true that if you don't have much to lose or have stayed the same for a while the you can hit a plateau. Ringing the changes of menu can help or perhaps looking at something like a SW sample weekly menu and trying that. Eating masses of veg can help too!:D

I'm planning t get my nails done later today. While the shellac never chips, the regrowth starts to be noticeable after a while. As I'm out and dressed up tonight and tomorrow I'd like to look a bit better groomed.

Good luck with Friday luxurywoman. I'm sure it'll be worth it.:)

It's bright here too. Enjoy it while we can.:)

Well, I had a call from the dentist, Friday is cancelled and I have to wait another week. I can’t tell you how disappointed I am. I was so excited.

Never mind, I’ve waited this long I guess. Still got the haircut to look forward to.

I'm trying a new cream tonight, Acure is the brand.

I have the Chinese doctor tomorrow and I have an outfit picked out, long black dress, dark blue Autograph top and my red waterfall cardigan. I'm wearing a necklace I don't normally wear as well.

I can't warm up today, I feel there is a chill in the air. I might go and put on some socks.

Wednesday: your fast I havent ordered yet, hope its good x I loved getting reflexology found it really relaxing, which is odd because I think my feet are ugly and dont normally allow anyone to touch them.

I find reflexology quite painful at times! :p

OH and I played squash yesterday morning and wow do the muscles in my legs, bottom and arm know about it! I think a long soak in the tub tonight is in order to soothe them a little ;)

I have only played squash once as a teenager and I was so sore the next day, I pulled muscles I didn't know I had.:o:D

Good morning all, it rained a lot in the night, but stopped now and quite blowy, bright and cold looking.

I don't seem to be able to manage my time in order to get a chilled day with nothing on out of the house, Sunday visited mum on her birthday, Monday hair cut and colour, Tuesday Osteopath, today Knit N Natter - lovely social group and don't want to miss another one, Thursday gym and monthly lunch out with cycling group, hope to squeeze a quick visit in to mum afterwards, Friday meet best friend for monthly get together then nail salon and breathe............

Need to try and schedule some time at mum's house clearing stuff at the weekend too:( Thank goodness I seem to be finding just enough spoons and pain is manageable, but I do worry about it all catching up again.

Going to catch up with all your news over a cuppa this evening, have a great day everyone:D

  • Today is my day to relax and catch up with chores. I looked for a slimming world near me and am going to attend later in the week. I have never gone to a slimming club as basically in my 20's I would have needed the money to buy milk or a bus fare. As I got older I never really joined in anything. It might be an opportunity to meet the neighbours.

I wore my 1960's dress, it is so highly patterned and vintage that I love it. I stick to the suits and conservative stuff and then days off I pull out the colour. I went to the library and hopefully will enjoy some books and audio books. I got a free trial with the gym and am going to attend. I may never be the thinnest but if I can reduce my gravitational footprint it will be much better for my confidence.

I made a meatball and cannelloni bean dinner (I don't like the word stew as it reminds me of some kind of slop my grandmother would make uck!). I tossed 3 tins of tomatoes and 2 tins of beans with a load of chilli, garlic and herbs. Hopefully the electric pressure cooker will make it come together in a tasty way.

I am off to give the bedroom the vip makeover. I have oxford pillowcases and the big euro pillow cases that need to be put on. I am going to donate slightly less than 200 tread count as I have so much still in packets and do the same with cutlery as I have good saved and am using mismatched and damaged forks.

    Hello Ladies,

Yesterday I went to see the film The Aftermath which I really enjoyed. I used my Odeon Limitless card. If the film is a true depiction of what Hamburg citizens had to endure after the end of World War 2, then it makes me once again despair at the pointless suffering and hate that war brings to innocent victims. The film centres on a British Officer's wife and how she copes with living in Hamburg sharing a home with her estranged husband, the German male owner of the house and his teenage daughter. I would give this film 8/10 because I felt the twee fairy tale ending was not in keeping with the content of the film. :D

I went to Karaoke in the evening and had a really enjoyable time. I sang 2 songs as there were so many other singers there. :D

Today I participated in a creative writing learning event at The Queen's Gallery which I really enjoyed. :D We were looking at the photographic exhibition of Roger Fenton who was a photographer in the Crimean War. We did some creative writing and I chose to do a piece of prose about Frances (known as Fanny) Duberly. She stood out for me because she was feminine, elegant but very strong in her opinions and ahead of her time. Then we had a look at the Russia, Royalty and the Romanovs exhibition and I took lots of photos of the fabulous jewellery, the Faberge eggs and portraits of the Romanovs.

I will be returning to The Queen's Gallery on Friday for another event for International Women's Day and I will be reading my piece of prose aloud to an audience at this event. :D

sugar your event sounds really interesting and right up my street. Good luck with your reading on Friday.

Saving I hope you managed to complete your chores.

Maddie your days sound busy, but enjoyable.

Luxury how annoying about your cancelled appointment.

We booked our summer holiday over the weekend, to Greece. It’s a place we stayed before, so it’s a good safe bet. Me and OH have talked about hiring a car on holiday and doing a bit of exploring. We have never hired a car in holiday, so we see it as a bit of an adventure.
  • Chanie- I did get all the chores done and the bit of decluttering and it feels much better as I save things for good to use them now as every day joy of using nice things is wonderful. I got rid of my mismatched items and will donate to charity and declutter a bit. I can afford to allow someone else have a hand up as there is a time to give stuff a new home.
