Just catching up and now I'm really curious to know what you decided teedy.
I'm using a little tanning cream in with my moisturiser and body lotion luxury woman . I looked so much better with the tan I picked up in India so determined to extend it a bit.
Interesting article on the fashion page this morning about people watching. The editor had been to London fashion week but she was more interested in what her colleagues were wearing in the audience than some of the more outrageous outfits on the catwalk. The gist was that you need to adapt the ideas to real life. One example was to stick to basic classics like jeans, t shirt and blazer but wear interesting shoes or boots.
I wore the William Morris print tunic yesterday with navy leggings. Very different for me and got a number of compliments. Even wearing blue was a bit of a change.
A week on I'm still feeling tired from jetlag. Glorious weather is helping though.0 -
Maman, I always keep an eye out for women of similar age and shape to me to see what looks great on them, Pintrest too. I also follow various people on Instagram, not the mum bloggers really but people whose style I admire, it’s good for ideas.
Speaking of ideas, my chest area is looking old. A bit red from sun damage. I’m guessing not much will help this but if anyone knows any magic cream. I think I’ll have to wear sunscreen religiously and wear a higher neck to hide it but also do wish I’d taken better care here, it’s years of v neck tops with exposure to sun and wind.0 -
I went to the training and was able to reschedule my facial until tomorrow. I'm just hoping my poor wee face can take it two days in a row, as I have another on Friday lol. I thought I had it sussed getting one on a Monday then a Friday for a few weeks, I'm sure I'll survive. Training session was really interesting but heard to hear at times as it was all about child abuse, a difficult subject.
I love people watching and noting what they wear and what looks might suit me. Trouble is you dont see yourself as others see you.:T:jDabbler in all things moneysaving.Master of none:o
Well except mastered my mortgage 5 yrs early :T:j

Morning fabbers.
Some of you may know that I have a big birthday coming up in autumn, the big 4-0. I have been putting money aside for a shopping spree, but in the meantime I have been researching products that I might like (and if they are discounted between now and my birthday, I will of course do the MSE thing and snap it up).
One item I wanted was a nice bottle of perfume, but I wanted to try a specialist perfume house. I found a lovely scent in Miller Harris, which was £100 for 50ml. I found an unopened bottle on ebay for £65 and snapped it up. I am dubious about buying perfume from ebay, but its quite a niche brand. Anyway, the perfume arrived today and I'm pleased to say thaat everything looks in order. Sadly I now have to put it away until my birthday.
Anyway, I would recommend trying a perfume house if you are looking for a new scent and want to try something a bit different. Although the perfumes are quite expensive, they do sell smaller handbag size bottles, which I think would make a nice little treat for yourself.
Next on my list is a tote shopper bag to carry all my lovely purchases.0 -
That's an excellent idea chanie. Glad you're happy with your purchase. What sort of tote bag are you fancying? Coach has some nice ones.;)
I had a quick look on Pinterest luxury woman and will investigate further. So far all the women I've looked at seem to be in a sort of 'uniform' of trousers, tunic and scarf. That is a timeless look I like and it's good for smart casual. I've commented before that it suits me, my DD and my DGD. Hopefully though I can find some examples of dressing for other occasions including dresses and black tie wear.
I've got a nice free day to myself today. I've taken my time fabbing this morning and as well as all the routine stuff I've used my Clinique complexion brush and having a day using the flaxseed oil instead of my serum.
Sadly the gorgeous sunshine has gone but it was good while it lasted.:)0 -
I’ll warn you maman, Pinterest can lose you hours but it’s great because you can be very specific, so let’s say you admire, I don’t know - gywyneth paltro you can search her but then if you see her wearing a particular e,g. Grey jumper, off you go looking for similar grey jumpers. I use it to search funky jewellery.
Anyway, enjoy!
Been to the dentist today, and I’ll be all finished next week. I’m not looking forward to the final bill but have put it on a rewards credit card and will pay it off completely I just want the points. Speaking of which I bought new underwear today with a nectar coupon and still have loads of points, I really find some nice bits at Sainsbury’s like skinny jeans and shell tops and it’s good to get them free or near as dammit.
I’m expecting some discomfort after the work next week but I heal quickly generally and I’m hoping to get a trim the day after then off to boots to get my new lipsticks.
I’m going to be Fabulous! And so are you lot :j:j:j0 -
luxury woman you sound like you are well ahead with your fabbing. Particularly well done on your MSE underwear. I always stock up when Sainsburys do their 25% off clothing.
Maman you know me too well, I’m eyeing up the Coach totes, but I’m waiting until the have a sale.0 -
I didn't do my kitchen exercises today ..........I helped DH move about 2 tons of brick rubble and then did my yoga session this evening! I think that's enough for today
Been cleaning the I side of the boat earlier this week so now I have no fingernails left to speak of and my hands are dry and rough so they will be the focus of some TLC off the next few days. Will give my hair a wash and blow dry tomorrow so it's ever for the weekend.
Carry on fabbing ladies!Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0 -

Hello, totally agree about going to a perfume house. There is an amazing one in Covent Garden. The staff in there are a bit pushy, and simply refuse to just let you wander around, but the slight annoyance is outweighed by finding your signature scent. Enjoy your new perfume when you get to open it.
I saw a really nice tote bag advertised on FB. It was plain black with either gold or rose gold handles. You you have it personalised too in script, in the same colour as the handles. If I come across the ad again, I’ll let you know the company name.
I have eaten out twice today, went for lunch with my friend and her new baby and then came home and went to my niece’s house for dinner. Not good for the diet, but good for the soul :heart2:
Back to work next week for me, so I better make the best of the next few days.
