  • Ha ha Wednesday...that's my usual trick. That's a great offer for acupuncture and ear candling.

Oh, is it? I was actually going to PM you to ask about that price.:) I was thinking about it and I'm not sure I want acupuncture, I might see if they will do me a deal on ear candling and reflexology instead.

I cannot believe how much better I feel after having the ear candling done earlier. When I got home I kept having to blow my nose over and over and now this evening it feels like my head has been decongested!

I am definitely going to have that done once a month from now on.

I was going to say Lessonlearned don't think that I have forgotten about you. It's just that my husband has been ill and hasn't done all the DVDs yet. :D

  • Hi all
Not a good day today. went for my swimming lesson and when I got to reception was told that price had gone up to £8 a lesson and I would have to book for 6 lessons. I was not happy and complained about the lack of notice . Apparently everybody else moaned to the reception staff and they all paid the lower price. So this unhappy bunny will be on the phone to the centre manager tomorrow to complain about the lack of communication and poor customer relations. I would like to continue with the lessons but the thought of loosing £8 a time if I am unable to turn up is too much. Up to now I have been able to pay weekly.

    Good morning lovely ladies.

Lovely to hear you are all doing so well. My fabbing today will consist of house fabbingthis morning, hanging pictures and making a quick foray into the upstairs bedroom to make a gentle start on decluttering and then getting my hair cut this afternoon.

The downstairs has remained nice and tidy, it's so much easier to keep on top of everything when there is less clutter. Actual cleaning should be a doddle now.

I still need to do lots of "weeding" .......books, CDs etc and actually go through my paperwork but for now it's all neat and tidy and I know where everything is. I can get down to the finer detail at my leisure.

Wednesday.....no worries, whenever you're ready. Hope your husband gets better soon.

Eandjsmum.....what a shame they've stopped the pay as you go swimming. I bet that puts a lot of people off. Not everyone can pay up front, especially in January.

    Anyway no new news.......have a good day.....Laters........

    Hi Fabbers,

Lessons well done with your decluttering.

eandjsmum I hope you get the swimming lessons sorted.

lantana good luck with your lipstick challenge.

This is my last week at my current job and I can't wait for my 'me' week next week.
I have booked a groupon pampering session and have a few other nice bits and pieces planned, combined with lots of down time.

Yesterday, I was in Central London and I spotted Fiona Philips filming. She was wearing a black leather biker jacket, burgandy ankle boots and a patterned skirt. I must say, she looked very well put together and you could tell her outfit wasn't cheap. I think it was the cut and fit of her outfit that stood out to me as it was almost like the outfit was made for her.

Go for it!!:D and do tell us how you get on. I was thinking of the two groups I belong to: my dancing and the art group I went to last night. In both cases I can either pay up front for a term/year or pay per session. What usually happens is that you save a bit by paying for a longer period. Even SW works like that.:D

Somehow I'd missed that you were leaving your current job. I'd just assumed you had some holiday to use up. Have a great week next week. Have you any trips planned? I don't know if you've been here but it's something I've earmarked for a trip:

I watched a bit of the programme on William Morris last Friday but gave up. I think it's going to be a bit like Lucy Worsley meets Big Brother House. Not for me.:(

Interesting that you admired her outfit. I've noticed in recent years that she hasn't aged very well. I always think she looks pale, drawn and quite grey. I put it down to the stress of nursing her mother some years back but was surprised that with the resources open to her she hasn't brightened herself up.

Really envying you the spa days lantanna. I started my second book yesterday. It's harder work than the first one but I'll get into it even if I have to make myself read a set amount each day.

The talk on Canaletto was excellent. Briefly, he showed a few images of Venice to highlight Canaletto's 'trademark' features then focused on the (mainly) London scenes and showed how he used very similar techniques. On the fabbing front, it's a strange group. I'm surprised that so many people who profess to like beautiful things turn themselves out so badly!:rotfl: I decided to go for my smart casual 'uniform' of black skinny jeans, black biker style jacket, dark green wool jumper and tartan scarf. I wore flat shoes because I decided to go by public transport and then walk the mile+ home to keep up my exercise. I made an effort with my make up including the foundation/moisturiser mixture.:)

No sun today. Dull but fairly mild. Dancing will be today's exercise and I'm keeping up the water and reading so well on track.:)
  • I think we are going out for lunch, instead of cancelled meal on Sunday. Keep your fingers crossed for me, I need something positive. So far today I've had a boiled egg and a cuppa for breakfast, a banana and a handful of almonds for elevenses with another cuppa so will be ready for lunch in an hour or so.

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton
  • Your fingers and thoughts worked, fairly quick lunch but we did manage it. I feel like having a lazy afternoon now and maybe a bit of a pamper evening. Positive thoughts for the day.
  • Glad you had a nice lunch, humpty - now enjoy your lazy pamper!
