I can't remember if I posted the link to this blogger. I find her outfits quite nice. I just remembered she mentioned a type of warm clothing to wear under clothes in winter.

ive recently fallen off the radar as being sudeenly unwell. I was just basically completely and suddenly ill. I had a few admissions and longer time trying to recover. I was not in the headspace to comment or even access internet. Awaiting results is painful as so much depends on a few words, thankfully it will be ok but

On Sunday I went to watch 2 films at Odeon Covent Garden using my Odeon Limitless card to buy the tickets.
The 1st film I watched was The Good Liar:
ODEON says...
Career con artist Roy Courtnay (McKellen) can hardly believe his luck when he meets well-to-do widow Betty McLeish (Mirren) online.
As Betty opens her home and life to him, Roy is surprised to find himself caring about her, turning what should be a cut-and-dry swindle into the most treacherous tightrope walk of his life.
I really enjoyed this film. There are some really good surprises in this film. I would give this film 9/10
The 2nd film I watched was Sorry We Missed You: ODEON says...
‘Sorry We Missed You’ follows Ricky and his family as they struggle against debt. Ricky gets the chance to be a self-employed delivery driver, which brings new challenges.
He was convinced to take the job by promises of independence, but he doesn’t get paid if he’s unable to deliver the packages. And with his wife’s work as a carer not proving any easier, the family is gradually pulled to the breaking point.
The team behind ‘I, Daniel Blake’ return with ‘Sorry We Missed You’, a captivating look at the modern gig economy and the challenges faced by families struggling within it.
I really enjoyed this film. I always love the work of the Director Ken Loach. His films are very relevant and apart from being great entertainment they are also social commentary. I would give this film 9/10
On Monday was I went to Odeon Streatham to watch 2 films: Joker and Luce using my Odeon Limitless card to buy the 2 tickets
The 1st film I watched was Joker: Joker centers around the iconic arch-nemesis and is an original, standalone story not seen before on the big screen. The exploration of Arthur Fleck, a man disregarded by society, is not only a gritty character study, but also a broader cautionary tale.
I personally thought this was an excellent story of a man's decent into madness and the birth of an iconic villain. I thought Joacquin Phoenix's portrayal of the Joker was excellent. I would give this film 8.5/10
The 2nd film I watched was Luce:
ODEON says...
A liberal-minded couple are forced to reconsider their image of their adopted son after they discover he has written an extremely disturbing essay for his class at school. What then unfolds between the teacher who expresses her concerns to his adoptive parents descends into a horrifying game of cat and mouse between his teacher(Octavia Spencer) and her student (Kelvin Harrison Jr)
This film was intense and thought provoking. A real conversation starter. I liked that it asks the viewer tough, open-ended questions about identity, race, culture, trauma, skewed perceptions, judgments based on preconceptions. Most of all, I loved that it didn't try to tie it all up in a neat little bow. I would give this film 9.5/10
On Tuesday afternoon I went to see the film Farming at Streatham Odeon. I bought my ticket for this film with my Odeon Limitless card.
A Young Nigerian boy Enitan (Damson Idris) is ‘farmed out’ by his parents to a white British family in the hope he’ll secure a better life for himself. But as a teen, Enitan's self-loathing over his racial identity leads him to become a member of a white skinhead gang.
Even though there is quite graphic violence in this film, I still found the film really watchable. It is a fascinating study of a young Nigerian boy finally coming to terms with his own racial identity and ultimately making a success of his life despite all of the early challenges of his life as an uprooted boy and teenager who struggles to work out where he belongs. I would give this film 7.5/10 because some of the more violent scenes were really disturbing to watch. Before I watched this film I had no knowledge of the practise known as 'Farming', which was a form of private fostering.
Yesterday evening my 27 year old daughter and I went to the Leilani restaurant and lounge bar for a 2 course Caribbean meal with cocktails which really tasted delicious.I had bought a Groupon for this meal for only £23 which saved me £44.80 on the menu prices. :T
We then stayed at the same venue after our meal for an evening of Karaoke, which we both thoroughly enjoyed.I sang 4 songs: I'll Never Fall In Love Again by Tom Jones, The Wonder Of You by Elvis, Perfect by Fairground Attraction and Always On My Mind by Elvis.

Sorry to hear this, hope you start to feel a bit better soon. Keep warm and Take care of yourself.0 -
savingfortomorrow wishing you a speedy recovery.
Sugar thanks for the synopsis of those films. I’ll keep an eye out for them when they come on Sky. I’m currently waiting for Frozen 2 and Star Wars to hit the cinema.
I’m off work this week, before I start my new job. Monday was spent running errands, yesterday was shopping and lunch with a friend and today, is at home as I have a horrible head cold and I just want to sleep.
Hope everyone is well.0 -
I didn't feel like going out in the end yesterday as it was bitterly cold out so I had to cancel.
I'm wearing my Tu grey and black knitted dress today. It was a bit too tight when I first got it but I tried it on today and now it fits me. It's quite warm on as well as I wear a black slip dress underneath.:)
I got the new black thermal tops delivered this morning. I got women's ones as they have a scooped neck so you can wear them under normal tops.
I just had a bubble bath, shaved my legs and used The Ordinary serum on my face.savingfortomorrow wrote: »ive recently fallen off the radar as being sudeenly unwell. Good morning lovely ladies
Are we all developing webbed feet and gills yet.
Absolutely dreadful day here, the rain woke me (roll on the new windows next week). Yellow warnings for rain and more flood alerts.
Anyway definitely an indoor day (and possibly the next few days as well). So today I'm going to clean out my kitchen cupboards, wash glassware etc all ready for the festive season.
I have spent the last couple of days, reorganising my wardrobes and cupboards and have finally cleared a backlog of paperwork that I have been putting off......
New rules......no more procrastination.:D
At least everywhere is more or less ship shape now.
Feeling a bit fat and frumpy - still struggling to lose those extra couple of pounds I regained.
Must try harder. :rotfl:0 -
Good Morning Lovely Fabbers!
I'm another one who hasn't posted since the summer but have been reading along every week following all your progress.
Life has got a bit in the way the last few months. Nothing too drastic just house renovations, diy, deluttering etc. As a result I haven't done much pampering or fabbing beyond the basic keeping well scrubbed, moisturised & hair cuts:)
The majority of the work around the house is done, although it,s never entirely finished is it? So im ready to rejoin this happy band of fabbers again
LL I also need to take myself in hand and get back on the healthy eating. It,s so much easier in the summer when lighter meals and salads are so much more appealing. I need to lose 10 -12 lbs to get back to my ideal weight. Not a huge amount I know but i'm only 5' 2" ( on tiptoes:rotfl:) so every extra pound shows.
I'm going to try intermittent fasting during the week and try to be sensible during the weekend when I have family/social things to attend which often involve food. It's my 25th wedding anniversary next month so I'd like to feel slightly fabber by then.
Hope everyone is staying warm & dry. We used to have a river at the bottom of our garden until we moved 6 years ago. Very pretty in summer but a constant worry whenever we got heavy rain.My heart goes out to anyone at risk of flooding.:(0 -
Unfortunately my film trip to see Judy was cut short halfway through because of snow!!
Had to leave the cinema pronto. What I saw I enjoyed tho and will try and see the rest.0 -
Hi fabbers,
I hope everyone is well. I have a head cold for a few weeks, which is leaving me feeling tired. Am currently lying on the sofa with a duvet, watching a Christmas film, which is ironic as the sun is shining outside.0
