Hello Ladies,
LL I am glad that your car accident did not result in injury to your person and your car was undamaged. :j
I went to a local Poundland in Brixton just after 9am this morning as it has a closing down sale. Everything is reduced by at least 50% but there are some items reduced by 75%. If I had not gone to the cinema last night, I would not had known this particular Poundland was closing down.Unfortunately there is not much stock left to buy but I got 3 books, Christmas items, birthday cards and chocolate treat bags and a 4 pack of toffee crisp.
Better than nothing

Hi fabbers,
Am back from Greece and welcomed by the rain.
We had a nice time in Greece, we had sun, sea and (T)satsiki.
I also got to indulge in lots of shopping and came back with two pairs of leather sandals, a gold chain and gold earrings. I'm very pleased with my purchases.
Hope everyone is okay.0 -
Pleased to see you back chanie. You’re purchases sound good. Well done for treating yourself.:)
I’d like the masseur to come round late at night Wednesday. There’s nothing like a massage for relaxing me and sending me off to sleep. It’s a pain in a salon when you have to get up and walk out.:(
I went to Slimming World today for the first time since my holiday. I’ve gained lots since my holiday so no wonder my skirts have been feeling tight:(. Back to healthy eating with a vengeance for me.
I was reading about a clothing company called Nobody’s Child in my paper today. They’re an ethical group that prides itself on almost zero waste that includes giving any offcuts of fabric to fashion students for their coursework. I’ve decided to order this dress.

We’re out for the day tomorrow, visiting a local arboretum and then an exhibition in Winchester. I’m planning to wear my spotty black and white culottes with a black top. We’ll have lunch out so I just hope I can find something healthy.
It’s been bright, dry and pleasantly warm today. I walked around on a few errands and my phone tells me I did 5000+ steps. Does anyone else count steps and, if so, how?:)0 -
I count my steps, somedays a shockingly low amount I'm afraid but if I overdo it my knee gives me trouble. It's a bit of a balancing act, trying to walk enough without upsetting my knee. I know you should aim for 10k steps but that seems to be too many for me. About 7k seems to be the most I can manage.
Losing weight has definitely helped though so maybe if I can lose another 1 stone my knee will be able to cope with more steps.
I had a lovely day. I met up with a new friend I have met through Meet Up. We had coffee, sharing a scone with jam and clotted cream so enjoying a treat but not going too mad. :rotfl: Followed by a mooch round the chazzers. I picked up two dresses and two tops, all for £6. Well pleased..

Good Morning,
I seem to have blinked and missed pages and pages! I shall continue to read back......
Recent Fabbing......
I have used the microdermabrasion stuff lurking in the cupboard. Face felt wonderful for a day. Also used a silver toner on my hair, so the grey is more one colour. So pleased, I cleared the shelf of half price silver toners in Wilko :rotfl:
We have made two dump runs this week, and the garden looks better. I have uncovered the little area where we had a Japanese garden theme. I have plans to make it Zen again.
Another trip to London on Tuesday. We used our annual pass to Buckingham Palace for a last visit to the State Rooms. I did not bother with the audio tour this time. I just looked at all the gilding. :rotfl: We had a cup of tea on the terrace at the end of our tour. The tea was normal price, but we gave the £6 scone a miss
We popped in and out of shops on Regent Street on our way to the Palace. Felt inspired by all the beautiful things in Liberty's.
The weather was stormy and wet. DH will be complaining about the lifetime guarantee on his umbrella :rotfl: I ended up just getting wet, as attempts to share the umbrella, just ended up with water down the back of my neck, or the danger of having my eye poked out
According to DH we walked 10 miles.......I still hurt :rotfl:
Have a lovely day0 -
House Elf - Sounds like you are making great progress and are making the most of your time off work.
Good morning lovely ladies......
Just done some hand washing of my more more delicate items - it's all dripping on the line so hopefully the rain will hold off for a while. Sunny at the moment so will grab an hour in the garden, the weeds are loving the intermittent sun and showers. :rotfl: My builder is currently doing his thing in the dining room so am trying to stay out of his way.
Have got a massage booked for this afternoon and then tonight it's "Spanish Night" in one of the city pubs. I'm taking the Venezuelan lot, another two arrived yesterday. Talk about taking coals to Newcastle. :rotfl:
So it's a full house at my sons. It's nice though even if a bit cramped. It is the first time the whole family - parents and three daughters plus partners have managed to get together since 2013. There's just one of the sisters partners missing, he's in Buenos Aires and can't make it. But it's lovely for the parents to have all the daughters together.
That's the downside of being scattered round the world, good work opportunities if you are prepared to travel but you miss out on family. Although, given the state of Venezuela at the moment, there's no real choice. There's nothing for the young people, they are leaving in droves. Over 1 million already. Can't help but think that can only have a further detrimental effect on the economy in the longer term. Losing all that youthful energy, enthusiasm and their modern skills will not help.
Right back to work......need to try and organise quotes for the next round of work. New windows and organise a skip.0 -
How do you count your steps LL? Do you use your phone or have a fitbit or similar? I haven't checked mine yet today but we've been ambling rather than brisk walking. I suppose keeping moving and supple is good but not the same as the 'health' walk we'd usually do on a Thursday. Next time I go to that I'll take my phone and see how many steps a brisk hour clocks up.
Hope the Spanish Evening goes well.:)
Your day out in London sounds just up my street elf. Glad you enjoyed it. I've been to the State Rooms for the past two summers with a girlfriend. The exhibitions have been good but my favourite is wandering along the 'corridors' looking at the amazing art work. Did you see the Queen Victoria Refurbishment exhibition? Any good?
We've been out all day. This morning a lovely walk around the arboretum and then lunch at a country pub. This afternoon we went into Winchester to see an exhibition of high resolution photographs of Michelangelo's work for the Sistine chapel. It was interesting but could have been better. There was an audio guide which stated the blooming obvious about some paintings and then told you little or nothing about more complex ones. And all narrated by the man himself in a very irritating American accent. Who knew that Michelangelo was an America? Fake News!!:D
I wore my black and white spotty culottes with my Jack Wills black tee shirt and black sparkly fit flops. MY SIL complimented me on the culottes as she originally thought I was wearing a skirt. I'm pleased about that because it means there's plenty of fabric. Not a bad buy for Asda!:D
It's been a pleasant day: dry and intermittent sun and not too hot for sightseeing. Looking forward to a relaxing evening.0 -

That sounds like a very cute outfit. I like black and white.:)
It made me laugh saying culottes as I went to a very strict convent school in London and we had a dress code and our uniform was navy blue.
I wore short skirts, long skirts, culottes, lol, anything to slightly get told off by the nuns about the dress code.
Now half my wardrobe is navy blue and that was the colour of my uniform. Must have been driven into me to wear that colour.:rotfl:0 -

I went the opposite way. My school uniform both in primary and secondary consisted of grey skirts and cardigans and I can’t wear either items in grey. Am fine with grey trousers, but that was because my school didn’t allow girls to wear trousers.0 -
Good Morning Peeps,
Maman The Queen Victoria exhibition was quite understated. Some of Queen Victoria's regalia in the Throne room, and a projection of how the ballroom would be decorated in the Victorian period etc.
I really liked Prince Charles curated exhibition of his favourite things, last year.
Went to a workshop at Craft Club delivered by an Intagrammer, who makes a dress a week! Oh to be that young, lively, talented and fabulous!.......We made a bag :rotfl:
Have a lovely day0
