    That is interesting humptydumptybits. :)

I just ordered some probiotics from H&B to counteract the antibiotics. I was flicking through the Clever Guts book and I also bought some fermented stuff. Jars of kimchi and some kombucha drinks. I know I love kimchi but I can't really remember what kombucha tastes like.

I know I don't like sauerkraut. Well, I didn't when I was younger, maybe I should try it again.

I love that in this thread we can be discussing hair and then digestion and then soup.

If you had a week to yourself, what would you do with it? This will be me soon and I want to make the most of it. I want to have a mixture of activity and also time at home. My ideas so far:
Central London: being a tourist in my own city.
Pampering; groupon for a facial or massage
Bicester retail outlet for some retail therapy

Just wondered if anyone has any other ideas?
  • Chanie - it depends when you will have your week.
I love a day out to an outdoor pool, but that won't be feasible for a few months!

I would look at museums, national trust places you haven't been to before, maybe cities you haven't been to before that are easy on the train. Oxford, or Bath for example, it's not very mse but Bath spa is a tremendous treat. Botanic gardens, arboretums.

Love a spare day all to myself
  • my bathroom scales groaned this morning, then I groaned when I read them!
So back to the gym it was and have done just over 10000 steps.

Regarding white hair, I've been putting one or two pink highlights in mine for a few years now using an old toothbrush and had loads of compliments .

    Hello Ladies,

Now that I have signed up to an Odeon Limitless card for at least 12 months for £19.99 a month, I went to see the film Bumblebee this afternoon using my temporary card. I chose the Limitless card option that includes the Odeon Luxe cnemas in London. :D I really enjoyed this action packed film full of Autobots and memorable human characters. It is set in 1987 which is the era when Transformers were big news and they were my older son's must have toys. I would give this film 9/10

The weather has turned cold in London but I am making a real effort to look groomed and stylish while keeping warm. It is easy to let our fabbing slip when it is very cold outside.

I am wearing Red Door perfume and body lotion every day as part of my fabbing routine. When I am going for a night out I will also use Red Door shower gel and body powder.

I stuck to 1500kcal again or so I think. I had HM curry for tea, hopefully portion wasn't more then 750kcal, other 750kcal within a day. I didn't run today, as I want to do it every other day. Fourth day without alcohol.

I’d love love to go to Bicester, it looks so good.

Get a box set of something you fancy.

Sugar as you go to the cinema regularly, the odeon pass will be great value for you and you will get so much use out of it. We are in a similar position with Sky: although it is expensive, it is our primary source of entertainment.
I remember watching Transformers in the 1980s and playing with my cousins toys.

Shoogly well done on your step count. When you think about it, 10,000 is couple of miles a day!

Green parrot thanks for the suggestions. I’m not brave enough for an outdoor pool in January!

Hi house elf, at least you have some positives so that is good. Taking back control is a biggie in itself so try not to worry that the list isn't longer. I think sometimes we overlook things e.g. the extension is meaning you have to keep on working but you can enjoy the extra space, clutter could be a source of money, I know I am planning on selling some stuff on ebay and have a double benefit of getting rid of clutter and creating some money so a winwin.

I don't bother much with make up but I'm thinking of having my eye lasher/brows dyed as I think that gives a more finished look with minimal effort, not that I'm lazy or anything!

HumptyDB Thank you for the positive perspective :A

I have made an effort.......I am sitting here with bright blue nails and I have just put some hand cream on. Also, I have listed another 10 items onto EBay yesterday.

Today, my aim is to sort a makeup bag with basics. (I have a massive stash of make up :o). ........Perfume supplies dangerously low. Will have to spend my Boots points. .........I need a hairdresser. Should I get a styling wand in the mean time? Decisions, decisions.......Shoogly I may go with some blue highlights to match my nails!

    Have a fab day :)
