  • Thanks guys. I am well chuffed. Just need to keep it up.

Kids have been paid :j so digs are in and money they owe is paid back. I am solvent again :D. I do not do well with being so close to the wire like that. I was getting so anxious and I am normally very chilled.

Anyway. Over now for January anyway.

Had to buy boots:(. Mine had a hole in the side of them. I hate new shoes. I love them when they are battered in and I can just feel from these ones I’m going to have sore feet for a while. Never mind they’ll hopefully do me a couple winters now.

Knackered now and need sleep xx

  • Evening folks. Hope you 've all had a lovely weekend. Mine has been really good except I have spent too much

My overtime was cancelled yesterday so I went and helped my friend set up the hall for her husbands birthday party. Managed to fit in the most of my housework as well so that I could chill today. I have had a lovely easy day so my plan worked :D. I didn't even make a sunday dinner and we just had a slimming fry up and sweet potato chips. It was delicious to be fair.

Yesterday I spent too much but YOLO and all that. I still need to live. DD and her BF have done dry January but were having a day out yesterday so I gave them £20 to get a wee cocktail. DS and I went for a main course at local Italian so I was £30 for that. He did offer to pay half but as I'd given the other two some cash I said no. £20 then for card for gift and £20 for drink kitty. Was a great day all in though and we don't do it that often.

Because I've been watching my grocery budget so much this month my stocks are getting pretty low. It has surprised me to be honest as I thought that the amount of food I had in was ridiculous. Kids now moaning like crazy as stocks are so low. I am refusing to just shop for the sake of it. DS is going in to ASDA tonight and I'll get him to get a couple of essentials but not much. I have however done a huge online shop to get delivered on Thursday which is payday. Hard work this budgeting malarkey ......

    Take care all xx

  • Thanks Jwil

Well what a depressing night. Nope not the snow or the rain but the bloody tax man . £285.80 paid. Still my accounts for this year to do when I end my self employment and reckon that'll be about £1k. No idea how I will pay that but I'll figure it out. At least I can forget about it for a while now.

Horrible day here today. Sleety, freezing cold rain. Thank you to whoever invented central heating.

Got a bit of a fright today when work said overtime cancelled for the foreseeable future. I have just enough coming in to pay my minimums and no more so no overtime would be a right bummer. I'm struggling to get any payments down lower than I have. Fingers crossed it carries on for a while.I've put down for saturday and Sunday this week in case it stops soon

So I'm shattered and definitely an early night tonight for me xx

  • Do you have anything to eBay or any other ways to bring in a bit extra? Surveys perhaps? Xx

  • Totally agree. I do YouGov and PopulusLive as they pay out in cash at £50, and Swagbucks as I can cash out in Amazon vouchers from £3. I get bored with the others. The ones I’ve mentioned get good returns Xx

Well done on the amazing weight loss :)

I agree that January is the longest month ever. You and me both waiting for payday on Thursday.
