Do they still have the debt repayment calculator anywhere? That's a really good tool. You put your debt in and the APRs and it tells you which one to concentrate on. Ah I remember its the snowball calculator. Once 1 debt is paid off you add that payment onto the next debt hence the snowball effect.

    Here's the snowball calculator http://www.whatsthecost.com/snowball.aspx

I hope you are feeling a bit more cheerful today, and hopefully once you've decided on a solid plan you'll be able to relax a bit more.

  • Sorry for being a moany git but was a bit overwhelmed with it all yesterday. I then went and checked my house insurance and when I take my business insurance off of my house insurance it will go down by £400 per year. That cheered me up a bit. I’ll get on to that tomorrow and sort it out Immediately. Ill also sort out the snowball and see what to hit after the overdraft as I’ve decided it definitely has to go first of all as it stresses me out that I get charges daily on that sucker. What I will do though is I will get bank to reduce it every month when I pay a lump off. I want it gone by end of 100 day challenge
So a bit more positive today and ready for battle xx

  • Jwil thanks for reminding me about the snowball. I used to use it all the time but had forgotten about it. When I went to start filling it in there it was on my favourites bar from last time. Not updated since 2016. Sad to say that debt was pretty much the same as it was then. Only bonus is that at least mortgage and home improvement loan have reduced so overall debt is lower. Grasping at straws for a positive here lol

So snowball agrees with me and overdraft is first to go. Going to try for £500 this month as that will be 1/3 of it gone. February is a shorter month so fingers crossed I can do it

When I went in to my cc's to check interest rates etc for snowball it turns out that some of my debt is actually on 0% already. Only about £3k but I'm disgusted with myself that I didn't even remember that. I need to get on top of this

So I'm all motivated again and determined to get my life under control xx

Thanks Jwil. I reminded my self that the first time I started looking to be debt free all those years ago I remember being overwhelmed then as well. I just need to knuckle down.

Unfortunately today I have burst the grocery budget. But I honestly have tried so hard. I just don't think I realised how expensive shopping is and I may have to add £25 or so on to my monthly budget. I'll try £250 again next month and see how it goes.

I dunno about the rest of you but I feel as if it's the 64th of January rather than the 23rd . It's interminable.

Had lunch with one of my clients and looks like the work I was doing for her may not be dead in the water after all. I'll just have to wait and see. She was definitely talking today as if she was putting the cottage back up for let in the summer. Now that would help my mission.

3lbs off this week so now at 16lbs in 3 weeks. I'm bloody delighted with this. Not really feeling it yet but at least I know its gone

I've had to buy boots as mine have a hole in them. So m&s £59 on to credit card :( but we have snow and I have a hole in my boot so was necessary. I refuse to be the local tramp along this journey of mine. I have standards you know, I am a fashion icon :rotfl::rotfl:

So today is my non working day and I've met client for coffee ( she gave me a bottle of mango vodka as a gift) , 3 loads of washing, soup is on, making fakeaway KFC and savoury rice for dinner and a general tidy round. I can then chill out tonight.

Hope everyone is well, catch you later xx
