So I'm back once again. Need to knock this debt on the head once and for all. This time I mean it though :rotfl:

Hope folks are well. Well my debt is still way too much. I've worked like a dog last couple of years but all I have to show is holiday photos and my house decorated. Still up to my neck in debt. BUT my kids will be flying the nest in next couple of years ( hopefully ) and I need this sorted before they go so I can consider getting a smaller house when they leave. I mean business this time.

So today instead of throwing out all the unused veg and potatoes I have peeled potatoes and carrots, grated said carrots, chopped potatoes in to chips and wedges and cooked them. I have other potatoes to boil for dinner. Chopped up peppers and mushrooms and I have filled my freezer with them.

I have been spending ridiculous amounts of money on food and it shows on my hips, thighs, bum, toes, fingers, eyelids :rotfl: everywhere. Again I'm sick of that so I will work on that too.

So wish me well and you'll be sick hearing from me as this is a lifeline for me when I am on the wagon. Plans in next post

  • So plans as follows

    1) Concentrate on biggest card which is costing me over £200 peer month just now and is at £9046.00 currently. I would love this to be gone by end of year but it's a big ask.
    2) meal plan- I've done this for January and have almost everything in the freezer and cupboards already- disgusting to be honest that I have enough food in that I could feed us for over a month without going to a shop. I need to stop this
    3) Spend maximum of £200 per month on food- still a generous budget for 3 but less than I spend now
    4) Lose weight but not join slimming world. I have a big family wedding and I will save the £4.50 weekly fee plus £1 for every lb I lose and that should cover my outfit for the wedding

I will add to this as I think of things

  • Just made dinner. Diced steak from the yellow sticker fridge for £2.50. Potatoes that I mashed using my new potato ricer (which is awesome), cauli and broccoli that I got for £1 as out of date yesterday and cheese sauce. Whole dinner cost about £5 for 3 of us and was delicious. I did keep some veg and cheese sauce for me for lunch tomorrow as I'm working overtime but DD nicked it and polished it off as it was too good not to apparently. Now moaning she feels sick _pale_

  • Dinner sounds good. Sorry about your loss of lunch tomorrow! Disappointing.

Good luck in the plans especially the CC bill, I have one of those too. Must get into Meal planning.

    Nice to see you back

  • Hi EE. Lovely to see familiar faces. Hope you are well. Buffy I have just put the extra mash in a tub with the leftover onion gravy. That'll do me. Yes I am a tramp :p

I'll take in some bread for toast for breakfast. I have a couple of bread rolls and some tiger bread going stale but I'll make them in to breadcrumbs and make goujons later in the month. They are on menu plan for the 26th Jan

Don't know if anyone is slimming but I have found a fab site called pinch of nom. They make normal recipes but take out all the bad bits and they end up syn free or just a couple of syns. I've tried a few of them and we have all loved them so far. I have them down as a Sunday meal over January as a Sunday is normally when I have time to spend in the kitchen. I'll no doubt report on here if they are fails or successes .

Right I'm away to subscribe to you guys threads xx

  • Well hello there dawny, how you doing? My doctor gave me the name of a recipe book for the low sugar diet. I’ll maybe have a wee look at it. I have 26 sweet teeth though so it scares me a bit
