  • So it's New Years Day 2019 and I want this to be the year of change for me. So I'm going to concentrate on the following

    1) Try and find £910 per month from end of January for CC debts. Minimum is £430 just now anyway so as long as my overtime continues I should manage that
    2) eat healthily and exercise regularly. Not going to set any goals for this but if I properly meal plan then it should all fall in to place. Not going to go to a slimming club but will put away £4.50 per week that I would have spent on joining fees and £1 for every lb I lose. That will be my outfit budget for my niece's wedding in October
    3) get rid of everything from my life that doesn't add to it in a positive way. That includes people unfortunately. I've already done this with one friend of 42 years. Very sad but she's not a good person and I want to be surrounded by good people who will have my best interests at heart as I will for them

So other than to enjoy life to the full ( within budget) that's my plans

Your posts are exactly how I am feeling. This year is going to be about me and it's like I am copying you on getting rid of things that are negative to me. One thing I have done is to get rid of all social media off my phone as it's annoying how much time I spend on it. I can still go on my laptop to view things if needed, but as I'm not good at remembering passwords I don't think I will be using it much. Plus fed up of knowing other people's business.

It's lovely to see you back MIT, and will be cheering you on . Good luck for this year.xx

  • Hi Amber. I would love to get rid of social media from my phone but I am just far far too nosey :o but you're right the amount of time i spend on my phone is shocking. I might delete the games I get engrossed in though as they definitely take up too much ti,e. No-one needs to spend 6 hours shooting coloured bubbles, which is pretty much what I have done today :o. I've actually just done just that and also all my shopping apps as it is way way too easy to just pop into them and spend unnecessary cash.

I've had the laziest day ever today. Kids and DD's BF have all lay in bed all day and I've binge watched the telly. I took down the tree and decorations. Cleaned the kitchen---ish. Made a steak pie dinner but to be honest I've basically lay on the couch watching telly and eating sh*te all day. It's been braw. Healthy eating starts tomorrow

See you tomorrow xx Take care tonight xx

Your lazy day sounds fab, although you do seem to have achieved a fair few things despite spending time on the couch! A nice balance :)

Your targets for 2019 are fab! I think everyone has 'those' friends that we just an emotional drain...I know I have one. She's always skint abd missing but won't help herself. I've stopped meeting her for coffee abd it always seems to be treat. I need to grow up and just stop contact, but I feel guilty.

Good luck with smashing that credit card debt!
