Can I join the party
Will bring virtual wine and cheese :rotfl:
In post six
You give a recipe site thank you
Also you say about bread
I don't know if your lot like it but I use mine for either bread pudding or bread and butter pudding
The former served with custard the second as is for desserts means I can make serve smaller mains
I find that cuts my food bill somewhatEmergency fund £10,000
Several categories with savings in
Cars, house maintenance, birthdays
Etc I have about 10 categories
Really happy to be debt free after being a compulsive spender0 -
hi jwil and thanks for the luck. All luck is welcome. Well good luck anyway
Aaleigha its only a wee bit of bread as I overbought due to Christmas. Don't normally waste that much of it to be fair. Also I'm a fat git (THINK TURKEY SHAPE) so bread and butter pudding is off the menu and of course you can join the party
I'm in work today. I just need to power through as all cash in the bank. I've brought food in from the house so no spends hopefully. I have leftover mash and gravy for lunch. Looks like slop but tastes awesome. I have chicken thighs defrosting to make chicken korma for dinner when I go home.
I'm supposed to be going out tonight but don't think I can be bothered tbh. It's my Christmas night with my buddies as we couldn't manage a night in December we could all attend. However I have had a fall out with one of them and don't want to be in her company so I am not going for the meal or anything but am meeting up with one of the girls after the dinner. Sounds very childish but actually really serious and been on-going for a number of years until I just cracked and told her to chase herself ( well I actually told her to get to F ) but hey ho she deserved it. The night out had to be arranged for 4pm start for dinner or she would be too drunk if we made it later. I just cant handle her drama to be fair. I get less drama from my kids. So I'm better off not going lol or I'll be the one causing the drama. Its a shame though as means any group meetings I won't attend unless she isn't going. The others in the group wanted to cancel tonight and go out elsewhere and make excuses to her but I wouldn't let them. So it will be interesting to see what happens. Must say I am a bit sad though. Not at losing her friendship but at having to exclude myself. She's apparently devastated that I am not going so no doubt there will be tears and snotters. Not my problem for a change..RANT OVER
Will see how I feel when I get home about going out. Once I really start money saving on 1st Jan then my budget will struggle to accommodate nights out

Good morning xx
Well I went out last night. My friend had called me and said that ex friend was going home at 8 so I decided to just go. However when I arrived she changed her mind and stayed on . I just didn't speak to her. She cried all night on and off but I am not interested. Sounds very harsh but she made a decision that affected my life to the tune of £1k income per month, without discussing it with me and I just can't forgive her. 42 years of friendship down the tubes because of her actions. I'm back to scrimping and scraping and I honestly thought all that was behind me. Just shows how life can change in seconds and not because of actions you take yourself.
I'm annoyed at myself though as I should have used the gravy times to get rid of my debts and I stupidly didn't. I am super motivated to do it now though so that financial changes in the future are not such a big worry.
I only spent £30 last night which is pretty good. My spends should be minimal over next few days as I'm not going out today, I'm working tomorrow and have a house party tomorrow night. I already have food to take with me and I have a tonne of booze. Only spends should be taxi. The I'll have a couple of quiet days before going back to work on the 3rd Jan.
So I hope everyone is having a nice chilled Sunday x5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60

So I don't know if any of you do self employed work but part of my income is self employed and I have been sweating as to what I would need to pay or tax bill. I took the bull by the horns there and had a look. Fantastic news is that because of paying in advance I only owe £285.80 :j
I think I will be ending my self employment now. As I said in last post a huge part of it was lost to me due to ex friend and the other client I have is selling up her properties or else putting in long term tenants. To be honest I'm torn between relief that I will not have to clean other folks crap up every weekend and annoyed at the loss of income. What will be will be. When I end the self employment I will need to see what I owe HMRC and if it's a fair whack then I will pay from my wages at source. I'm not going to stress about it.
