No you need to be able to text.. It is practically free and texts can be free if your on certain packages.

I've got my box but it doesn't have the new Teletext Extra EPG, it still has the old one so I can't access the special screen.

i phoned them and they said there out of stock and they wont be sending anymore

Sorry, you're wrong! I got 2 of these last year, one to my home and one to someone elses, made up mobile numbers from free sim cards ( as I dont have a mobile phone; I am vehemently against the radiation emitting masts spewing out cra* that my precious kids have to breathe in day in, day out :mad: and I am not a hypocrite so I don't have a phone) and I've never sent in one single text. had them about 4 or 5 mths now. besides, as I said earlier the dates to send in texts ran from say end of July 2007 to end of july 2008 and you have to text tor at least 48 weeks of the year or something and 5 weeks of it had already gone so id never have been able to send 48 texts by end of july so wouldn't have qualified for the vouchers anyway! Not that I wuld anyway, and add to the radiation!! managed without a mobile nearly 45 yrs, didnt even have a phone in the house till i was into double figures, so sure dont need one now. (Saves me a packet too!)

It can't have been going for long because the boxes haven't even got the update yet.
I received this e-mail from custoemr service:

Hi Tom,

Please leave the box on standby tonight as we are sending an update to all the boxes, this should resolve the problem. If you are still experiencing problems after this, please do not hesitate in contacting me.

Well the point is that your meant to and would have signed a form agreeing to that and they have the right to ask for it back if you don't comply..

I didnt sign anything! I sent an e mail and then had the box delivered next day!
Then did it again to a friend's house

I got a box of them last year the epg is pretty cool, we forgot about texting after 8 weeks and they have been cool about it x You have to leave it in standby when not in use as they send updates nightly, we just pre selected random shows, so they thought we were using it properley, you are meant to use it as your main box x
And no we didn't have anything to sign, we sent an email, they sent an acceptance and we got the box two days later x
