You can buy a freeview box these days for a tenner (less on ebay). I recommend spending a little extra and getting one with a hard drive so you can record and pause TV. If you get one with twin tuners then you can record one channel and watch another, highly recommended

Sorry I am not Sarah but when I did it it was all done electronically with me sending them an e-mail saying I confirmed my position on their panel etc
