Thankyou DoaM,
Have read all your observations and they are very useful and will amend my defence accordingly...best to get Defence in as good a shape as possible.
Thanks for the link re Call Connection charges, iit appears they are in breach of this too, so will add this..
Had a quick look @ KADOE contract, will need a bit more absorbing, though yes appears they are in breach of this too, due to the inadequate signage not complying with the ATA’s code of Practice (BPA’s code),
Might as well get as much in as I can where they have not adhered to Codes of Practice etc.. Thankyou again!0 -
An addition to item 3, if the signage fails to mention the call charges in the format detailed here https://www.ofcom.org.uk/phones-telecoms-and-internet/advice-for-consumers/advice/uk-calling/uk-calling-for-businesses or at all:
"In failing to properly declare the premium rate call charges immediately adjacent to the 0845 number the signage also stands in breach of Ofcom's "Condition Binding non-providers" (aka the "UK Calling" changes) that came into effect on 1 July 2015."2 -
I am not sure why "Call Connection Services" have come up in this thread. This is not a Call Connection Service. The premium rate 0845 number is the actual number for the Parking Company. Its operation breaches the BPA Code of Practice and the signage promoting the number breaches Ofcom's rules on declaring the call charges for such numbers.3. There are also [URL="https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5639282about Call Connection Services[/URL] (including 084 numbers). Might be worth making reference to that too, as it is highly unlikely that the signage specified any call charges.
A Call Connection Service, on the other hand, is a third-party website that offers a premium rate 084, 087 or 09 number that purports to forward calls on to a named organisation that itself already offers an ordinary 01, 02 or 03 number or a free 080 number. CCS are, effectively, standalone premium rate number scams. That is not what is happening here.
The point about declaring the call charges is, however, correct. I dealt with that in the post above before I saw the post that I am commenting about here.2 -
the PPC in this thread is IPC , not BPA
THE SOONER THE GOVERNMENT SORTS OUT THEIR MANDATORY CoP, the better2 -
Hiya Redx,
The signage in question here has the BPA logo on the bottom?? So surely ok to be mentioning BPA code of Practice in my defence?
Is there somewhere I can check this, as could make a big difference to my statement perhaps especially if they are NOT members of the BPA which they claim on their signage!!0 -
Thanks Ian 011,
Yes I will definately mention it too, as no their was absolutely no mention of call charges in the signage!
Thanks again!0
