Just thrown out 4 mugs which were on their last legs ( did have 4 replacements though ) and into the cs pile, a game that the DGC have grown out of. More baby steps taken in the right direction :j.
MrsSD the illusion of DH sweeping me up to bed in his arms lasted until I took one look at his face.... he was snoring his head off still sitting in his chair . :shhh: Shhhhhhhh don't tell him, but he's still my hero :kisses3:Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently0 -
If you look in a corner of the glass there maybe is a little sign that shows its safety glass. All that clutter used to be money0

A slow week for anything other than painkillers so far.
134-136 magazines to DH work
137 candle holder thrown away.
138 pack of OOD cake decorations
139 Christmas card that was lying around0 -
I was struggling with dithering indecision today. I was trying to sort out the 6 year old's board and picture books but I have so many happy memories of how much he used to love me reading them over and over to him when he was a tiny that I ended up keeping most of them. I did manage to take a bag of baby clothes to the CS though so I still got something accomplished. I'll just need to have another go at the books when I'm in a more ruthless mood!0

Hi everyone, so glad I've found this thread. I've been on a decluttering mission since before Christmas and have been doing so well but stalled due to not having a car in the day so can't get anything out of the house....anyway, hubby and I spent last week when he was off clearing the garage, and the week before last I sorted the loft, all i need to do is take the rubbish out of the loft to the tip which should happen next week as hubby has the whole week off!!
I've Konmari'd my boys' rooms, and all mine and hubby's clothes, and before Christmas I emptied my living room and deep cleaned it, only putting back what 'brought joy'...having 3 smallies means it's gathering stuff again, but nowhere near as bad as it was! I will need to tackle it all before MIL comes to visit at half term though
Thanks for letting me join in.Changing my Family's Future!! - Starting again!!!!

Thanks everyone for your support & kindness, Cranky40 I did indeed take today off too, have spent time with my boys and their gf’s, laughed, ate pizza and generally de-stressed!
Mum msged to say she had got her handyman to put the bin out and that it was full:eek: I don’t think her bin has ever been full.. :T
I did respond with encouragement. I know it would have taken an awful lot, both mentally and physically for her to do this (Also msgd the handyman to thank him for doing the physical bits.. he took the bin to the shed as she wouldn’t be able to, he also carried larger items to her garage for me to tip, oh & made her go in after half an hour)
I think she may have realised she overstepped a little on Sunday, though nothing will be said!
I too have had a topsy turvy relationship with ma, growing up was hard, according to her at the time (I was v young) I was too like my father & after being forced to leave home at 16 we didnt speak for 2 years, just after I had my DS1 she became seriously ill, I became her carer as my sister didnt have time! (Full time teacher)
My grandpa (her dad) was a hoarder (organised, yet still a hoarder) and had been very violent towards her & her siblings during childhood.. burning her things etc.. So I do understand why she finds it hard to let go of stuff and her tendencies have got worse with her illnesses. I accept fear as part of the reason as to why she lashed out.
Just recently little jabs have been getting under my skin, I’ve willingly given 18 years of my life to assisting her with anything needed, supporting her emotionally and fixing both her and the bungalow, along with managing my own autoimmune conditions, DS1&2 and my job..
It was a conversation with my DS1 that made me realise we’ve not had a holiday in 8 years:eek: so in a way my boys have put things on hold too..:(
I think this year I need to change that!:o
Here’s to decluttering some guilt over putting me 1st..;)"There's a little witch in all of us"🔮🪬🧿DEBT FREE 06/2018Mrs SD’s Decluttering 2025 ⭐️ 🥇0
