Not much extra decluttering happening here today, except a roast chicken diner. That was followed by a home made trifle, using up some stale cake, a few raspberries that I inadvertently crushed when bringing home the shopping...... oops! and a jelly found lurking in a cupboard.) I only had to make the custard :j. Nom, nom !!
MrsSD if you're in Wales this week please feel free to call in chez nous for afternoon tea ........or anyone else for that matter, you'd all be most welcome. We could have a decluttering party _party_ :rotfl:.

I can't promise any interesting and/or entertaining items like some of those I've just read about, but today has been quite productive: moving a filing cabinet, hoovering up the thick dust behind it and sorting some of the junk that's accumulated in our room:
30 papers, gift bow, battered watercolour paints, random unidentifiable piece of plastic, small box, 2 boxes of cereal (these weren't in our room), a bit of rubbish (lost track of what that was), magazine, 2 plastic bags, catalogue, chocolate rabbit (42 items).
New total 1,441.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
The sun's been out and I think I’m solar powered (Onebrokelady)
Fashion on the Ration 2025: Fabric 2, men's socks 3, Duvet 7.5, 2 t-shirts 10, men's socks 3, uniform top 0, hat 0, shoes 5 = 30.5/68
2024: Trainers 5, dress 7, slippers 5, 2 prs socks (gift) 2, 3 prs white socks 3, t-shirts x 2 10, 6 prs socks: mostly gifts 6, duvet set 7.5 = 45.5/68 coupons
20.5 coupons used in 2020. 62.5 used in 2021. 94.5 remaining as of 21/3/220 -
16 - broken cable
17 school uniform unworn
18 teapot given to my dad who returned now with daughter!
19 pile of paper - bin and put into reusable notepads
20 crayons together and for give away
21 good shoes for CS
22 -24 sports clothes for cs
Few other things for freecyle but will add when picked up.
It feels quite overwhelming and slower than anticipated. I have got rid of things earlier in the summer, feels chaotic.
Hoping can get to 50 for end of August or higher...0 -

17 old emails deleted
1 item of paperwork shredded
Had a theatre brochure arrive in the post and nearly put it in filing cabinet, however remembered that the information is all online so put it straight into recycling. I am on their email list so I really don't know why companies send out paper versions too.
OH has observed that decluttering makes me happy. What makes me happy is that we were able to eat together on Saturday night because the breakfast bar is now clear, and that I was able to use an aromatherapy oil burner yesterday evening because the sideboard is now clear and I could actually see that I have it - it was a present from OH several years ago and last night was the first time I've used it.
I am looking forward to being able to clean my home quickly and efficiently. At the moment it is an overwhelming task (I noticed last night that my armchair is attached to the wall by a thick tangle of spiders webs) so it just doesn't get done and it's really not nice living in a cluttered, mucky home.

Your post resonates with me, oceanspirit. I felt good about the tiny corner I cleared and cleaned yesterday even though I couldn't see it when I was in bed with the lights out, and I've already moved some stuff over there! At least it's clean and there's less in it than there was.
I'm currently taking a course on resilience and one of the things that's come up is the importance of regularly practicing the skills that help us get through things. One is being part of a supportive community (thanks Mrs SD!), another is breaking big tasks down into manageable chunks rather than looking at the whole and being overwhelmed. I think we're all at the stage of working on small chunks, whether it's the corner of my bedroom or making a list of all the things that went to the charity shop or the bin during the day. The research says this is a good way forward! So focus on what you are achieving (keep using your aromatherapy burner, have another meal at the breakfast bar tonight), and add the other achievements one by one.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. The garden decluttering is still ongoing here and I have filled 3 green waste bins, 2 of mine and 1 borrowed from next door. The bin man cometh tomorrow so that will save us a tip trip this week :j.
More purse decluttering this morning, money for SiL's birthday, gaming headset for DGS's birthday and also a gaming headset for DH's birthday. Unfortunately DH's don't work so we will have to return them on Wednesday, as tomorrow is earmarked for replacing the last 2 fence panels. I am hoping to reuse these panels elsewhere in the garden to try to stop someone's dogs (2) traipsing through .
Happy decluttering everyone.

Up late today - 11:00 a.m. having originally woken up at 6:45 which was way too early for me :rotfl: No decluttering - apart from ingredients for a focacciaThe focaccia is made, the last of the hm olives
have been decanted into small jars with olive oil rather than brine. DH has dropped off the Harley Davidson seat for recovering. He has also just transferred money from an account he had forgotten he had into his current a/c - enough to pay for the patio :j Hope he finds a few more forgotten accounts :rotfl:
2784 - 2785 Small plastic bottle bag, plastic packaging - Binned
2786 - 2787 Small glass jar filled with olives & a bottle of red wine for friend
2788 Cardboard packaging - Recycled
Tomorrow we are off to Wales, so will pack our bags later. Even though I won’t be decluttering (apart from pennies) over the next few days, I will pop in to cheerlead
Well Done on the digital decluttering, oceanspirit :T. Nice that your OH is paying attention& noticing that the more you declutter the happier you are
Tangible results for your hard work in decluttering & fully agree with Cherryfudge - focussing on your achievements will bring great pleasure
(Shame my DSis doesn’t notice
but at least DH does
) Silver lining, if you have spiders you should have no flies :rotfl:
Cherryfudge sounds like a good courseI remember years ago it was called ‘Eating the Elephant’ - you can’t eat a whole elephant but you can eat bits :rotfl: Love the description ‘A Supportive Community’ - describes all of us to a ‘T’ :T
Anyway I shall love you & leave you & wish us all plenty of decluttering mojo
