Chucked a wool hat that had moth holes in it.
Started to sort out bedroom which is the dumping ground for anything & everything. It's needing a real going over but started at one corner.0 -

Deni debt-free dreamer, I think you automatically take the small decluttering steps- you read & recycle newspapers/magazines, rinse & recycle milk cartons, rinse & recycle empty food tins etc, deal with your post, hang up coats etc. Lots of things you could count, as you are preventing clutter getting a hold in your home. Plus you are actually decluttering serious amounts of paperwork :T Are you working to a target or just to clearing cupboards, rooms etc ? Please do not get despondent
seeing clear and/or tidy spaces/worktops etc is a good indicator of your decluttering success :T Well Done on the bag to CS :T

Hi Mrs SD - big thanks :A yes I do recycle as much as I can and I have a milkman so get the glass bottles reused. I am trying to return my bedroom from a dumping ground to a peaceful sanctuary. That's my main aim. But in general I am a hoarder and I don't deal with things straight away. Today I have sorted piles of paperwork from the coffee table and recycled loads of paper and shredded a bit too. So I have decluttered today! I have more stuff for the CS but don't like to count that until it's out of my house and in the CSDxx

1. SMALL TASKS WILL BE DONE ASAP
2. I WILL LEAVE A ROOM TIDIER THAN WHEN I ENTERED
3. KITCHEN WILL BE LEFT CLEAN & TIDY EVERY NIGHT
4. WHEN DEALING WITH CLUTTER I WILL USE ‘Daisy1571’s idea of ‘WHAT WOULD I DO WITH THIS ITEM IF IT WAS SOMEONE ELSE’S ?’
5. IF I WAS STARTING FROM SCRATCH, WOULD I BUY THIS?
6. BE LIKE A POSTAGE STAMP - STICK TO ONE THING UNTIL YOU GET THERE
Sunday was dry & warm but overcast, although the sun did come outso walked to sm past the dock - swans, Greylag & Canada Geese, coots, crested grebes & mallards. Sm was crowded
so I was happy that I was only doing a small shop
Decided to treat us today - I made a full roast dinner - pork with crackling (DH did the honours), roast potatoes, parsnips, broccoli, cauliflower & carrots, steamed spinach & broccoli spears & Yorkshires. DH made a luscious gravy. It was delicious 😋 even if I say so myself
Only trouble is it creates soooo much washing up :rotfl:
Watched a lovely film this afternoon - Babe - hadn’t seen it in 20 years so had forgotten what a feel good film it was :T
After watching the Motorcycle Races, DH put up a new light fitting in the hall & a new light switch. He also filled the bird feeders & watered the garden.
1515 - 1524 Two drinks cans, empty beer can, 6 lots of cardboard packaging, bin full of recycling from DH - Recycled
1525 - 1526 Bag of kitchen detritus, uu pen - Binned
1527 - 1528 Two rusted roasting tins - Tip bag
Well Done Gem-gem :T
Well Done on starting the bedroom choille :T If you do all the corners then you only have the middle to do :rotfl:
See you all tomorrow

I still feel overwhelmed to be honest but still keep going. I just need to keep tidied areas tidy and joining them all up.:rotfl:
I sorted the kitchen last night and attacked the bathroom with microfibre cloths. The basic ones from T£sco have been fab. What a saddo am I.:rotfl:

2) Dumped a fitted sheet that had gone all pilled it was uncomfortable.
It took me ages to decide on dumping it and not cutting it up into dusters. I have a load bursting out of the cupboard already.
Started to count stuff now in the bedroom de-clutter.0 -
Went SM yesterday and got huge bag of mushrooms and another of bananas as well as a magazine. Have made mushroom and chicken curry, in SC now, 2 portions of cauliflower curry from YS cauli and chopped up and froze 4 bags of bananas so have cut the peels up ready to put in garden along with egg shells, some other bananas will be made into a banana curry when SC free, the rest go in my morning porridge. Leaves from cauli will be added to soup. Removed 2 pages with recipes I liked look of from mag along with 1 from another SM, I will scan these then the 2 magazines will be in bin. Not a lot but the cooked food will be de-cluttered over time. Oh, and the microwave trays that take-a-way dinners come in and the metal oven ones are used several times but not worried about throwing out when they become a bit manky. Instead of buying cooking dishes.0

Afternoon all
Had to give in and take a huge bundle of coat hangers to the tip
I am sorting my wardrobe out and changing all hangers to uniform slim line ones.Sad thing is no one takes coathangers for recycling and i had no takers on giving them away.
DD and SIL are taking a few bits every time they come over so its getting a bit clearer in doors.
Im still trying to reduce my plastic waste/food waste but its so hard.
Trying to reduce clutter ,save packaging that either goes to a Terracycle collection.Recycling or is just waste.:eek:MAKE £2022 in 2022 no 29 £2022/£434.10

*89-91 decided to send another 3 neutral items out. Was going to save until Christmas but found out the charity has events and raffles happening now thru the previous box of goodies sent. Pleased as one item was a big item-has freed up some space
*194 other decluttering has been very poor but did use saved packaging to send the above.
*195 some paperwork sorted-some bin, some recycling
Do have things to go to the tip and clothes recycling and. ....just haven't had chance but did have a quick look today and if I'm decluttering savvy an old bookcase once full cleared can also go to the tip which will make me very happyDecluttering challenge 2023🏅⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A little bit of progress made today as I cleaned the fridge as a sort of displacement activity and threw out or ate various bits. I feel a bit guilty about things that had gone off but they're disposed of now. I've also taken some books to the charity shop - they were rather heavy - and some empty jars to see if the eco shop could use them, but they came back home again as it's closed on a Monday. I also recycled eight bits of paper.
Today's list:
8 pieces of paper
7 books
6 food items
And lots of weeds from the garden which counts as 1 item.
That's 22 which brings my total to 665.I think a bit of sunshine is good for frugal living. (Cranky40)
