Lots have said the same. I have the one with Geranium in it. Have you tried that one? Lovely to use but disappearing really fast.

No I've not tried that one, I have tried the Seanik one and the yellow one (don't know the name) - they've been good so far. Hope you have better luck with your other one.

How weird! No idea why this one is disappearing so fast. I have long thick curly hair I wash every day but I'm just giving it a quick wash. Maybe I got the runt shampoo bar of the litter :)
    Thanks for recommendations!
I'll look up conditioner bars too, thank you!

I have tried the lush shampoo bar, and I did like it and it lasted ages. I wash my hair everyday but my hair is short and I literally just needed to wipe it once across the top of my head and that was enough to lather up and wash. What put me off was the bar had seaweed in and one day I was left with a ‘ snotty’ looking lump in my hair

My aim to saving money is to meal plan, I start off with good intentions with meal planning but end up going shopping with no plan at all. I then I buy far to much and stuff gets wasted. I have organised my pantry and fridge so I know exactly what I have in and I need to do the same with the freezer. I think I can reduce my grocery bill easily by a third if I stay focussed ( that’s the hard part)

Other areas I’m trying to save are general shopping not buying to many clothes, I don’t wear uniform for work so do need a clothes / shoes budget and I am resisting impulse buying :D
I also do surveys for money , not a lot of money but i tend to get a*azon vouchers which then pays for bits and bobs throughout the year
I have also done an agreement with some of the family not to buy birthday and Xmas presents so that will save quite a bit and for the dd’s and dh a £30 limit is now in force lol which was dd1s idea :T

I’m hoping little savings in lots of places will add up to much larger saving pot :D

would love to join you all. I've been reading through the previous challenges since December and got loads of ideas , also find it helps my motivation . I earn a good wage but my husband is going self employed next month so I've really cut down spends to in theory live 100% off my wage to take pressure of him whilst he is getting established . I'm 37 with a stressful full on job and now seriously planning for how do I get mortgage paid off by time I'm 50 ( due to be paid off at 62 if i do nothing ) and retire at 55. might seem a long time away but feel of I don't start working on it now it won't happen. Anything hubby earns this year will go to savings/mortgage or credit car loan . Today cancelled now tv and Tv licence ! £21 up a month

Getting ahead with the meals for the next few days. Meatballs made. Chicken thighs cooked. Broccoli and stilton soup made with 'past it' ingredients. Also having salmon which is in freezer and will do a veg curry later in the week. YS cooked chicken stripped and stored for lunches and some frozen for future soups. Busy productive morning :) Most of the ingredients I have "shopped" for from cupboard stores/freezer...and there is plenty more :j

We've always taken our own lunch to work.

Even when we were both earning good wages and could easily have just bought yummy M&S stuff everyday....but now we are reaping the rewards of not doing so. (and from being generally frugal in most areas) We knew from very early on that the target was Mortgage Free and Retire Early. We've acheived the first, and i'm only on a 20 hr week, so pretty much sorted the 2nd too.

It's funny in a way that if we get any comments along the lines of "why don't you spend on XYZ you can afford it?, do they not realise that it is because we haven't spend on XYZ that we can have the life we now do.

Delayed gratification....it's old fashioned these days, but it's worked for us.

Love your signature. Going to try and remember that daily

Well the house viewing was AMAZING! It is everything we want, need, love and more. There is also a fully functioning greenhouse there so if we're successful and get the house, I'll be asking lots of frugal gardening questions! Roll on Monday to hear whether the landlord liked us and we can go forward with our application.

    Time is going very slowly!
I'll be hitting Lidl tomorrow, or Aldi, to do some food shopping but will do a food inventory and plan first.

Keeping my fingers crossed for Monday for you. x:)

    EF £200 Mortgage OP's this year £115

There's a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow, Shining at the End of Every Day!

  • I'd like to join in please! Desperately trying to spend as little as possible as I need to save up some cash whilst debt ridden, to pay for dry rot caused by a landlord's lack of maintenance on his rented property next door!
