Just wondering if a DRO would work for you? But I suppose if you are expecting to get a job in the next year it wouldn't work. Or are you furloughed? Can't remember!
What is DRO? I am furloughed

I don't know all the ins and outs, but a DRO writes off non secured debt (not rent arrears I think) and lasts 12months. But there are lots of things needed to qualify, might be worth some research to see if it could work for you? I think you might earn too much when you are working normally. Maybe look at the step change website.

I spoke to Step Change 2 yr ago they told me to go bankrupt!

As for the DRO, I have more than £50.00 left after paying the essential bills and a car worth 10K so no chance! Also not sure I would want that on the credit file. My debts are do-able, it just a long plod and annoying as cannot pay more than the mins at the moment

  • Wow gosh, I knew I had not signed in for a while but did not realise last time I was here it was June! Not much has changed, now unemployed rather than furloughed. Trying to find work at the moment is hard, I have lost the wind in my sails.

Still owe: £7,429.00 it is going down slowly but not fast enough. I will get there one way or another

  • Turns out I am quids in with the council tax, a whole months worth. Would have loved to leave it with them but alas I have asked to have the money refund so I can pay my mobile bill and buy food this month. I hate being poor, have had enough now!

Have been applying for Christmas shop staff roles, anything to get some money in the bank. On Friday I applied for a role I really want, hate applying for roles I really want as they have to get over when you get rejected! but hopefully this will be my life changing moment

  • Gosh what a day!
Found out this morning my Housing Association have finally pulled their finger out and are moving me :)I am over the moon, I feel like a huge weight has been lifted of my shoulders, The last 7 years and 9 months I have lived next door to an absolute nightmare of a neighbor. Long story short... loud music any time between 10pm and 7am, shouting arguing day and night, drug deals, violence towards others man and female. I have called the police out at 1.30am when he was beating up his girfirend, others have called the police out, twice he has cahsed people down the road in broad daylight with a weapon, he has been shot at by the police, they used a plastic/rubber bullet. Has been in prison at least 4 times, I have heard the police bash his door down twice not to arrest him. That is horrific to witness at 2am. The HA will not evict him for whatever reason, this week he is having a new bathroom installed!

So finally my emailing, complaining, logging all of this, having a wonderful female PC on my side has made the HA actually find a suitable property and have me moved. Half of me is like why should I move but the other half is this could be the new change, new address, new start I need.

I am yet to view the property, I saw the outside today. I know the road and the PC lady I am in touch with has ok'd the address with the HA. which is good to know and gives me peace of mind there is no antisocial behavior in the area.
So now I am sitting here in my flat thinking OMG how the hell do I actually move... I have never moved home before, when I have moved before I always had furnished rented properties or had the odd bit of furniture, not a whole one bed flat full and 7 years of clutter!

Any tips advice greatly received, especially on how to move a freestanding Smeg fridge freezer... As always on a budget and cannot afford a man with a van. going to rope my mum brother and friends in to help, I'd best get baking cakes!
So so relived, it is a funny feeling and I actually feel safe and can see myself in the new property already
