None at bingo tonight (did have a small win though) but I've taken out my cash for shopping this week so will see what Mr T can do with the self service checkouts. I've also found Mr A to be quite good too.£2 coin savings club 2025 #1 £166 (2024 £692; 2023 £754; 2022 £472; 2021 £256; 2020 £358; 2019 £512; 2018 £404; 2017 640)Saving for Xmas 202 £1 a day #4 £365 / £365 3-6 month emergency fund challenge #48 £10,030 Save a penny a day 2024 #32 £ . / £667.95 £1000 emergency fund challenge #232 £1,007/ £1,000 (achieved Nov 2020)0

Lovely idea for a challenge, Gem-gem:T. I know I'm late to the party (as usual) but can I join in for what's left of the year please?
I'm not saving for any particular purpose or aiming for any specific total. Now I'm finally debt free (and what a long slog it was getting there:eek:) I just want to be a saver instead of a spender:j. I've been using my contactless debit card for most of my spending but am going to have to go back to good old-fashioned cash again if I want to find any £2 coins.
Before I had debts I used to pop £2 coins into a pot and it was amazing how quickly they added up. When I was really skint I was scratching round for every coin I could find just to manage day-to-day living:o. If I ever came across a £2 coin in those days I felt I'd won the lottery:rotfl:
Just a query about why people mention specific coins, such as Brunel or Shakespeare Tragedies.. I know some have a higher monetary value than the £2 but what do people do with them? Sell them on eBay or something?0 -
Hi, finally got 2 coins both plain - one in my change from Mr M and one in a works birthday collection which I swapped!
Noella - I don't know the answer to your query but welcomeLBM - October 2018; finally debt free on 16 March 2021
