Three - 3p a min abroad?? really?

Three say they offer 3p a minute roaming calls. First, they don't tell you that's outside of any calls bundle. But that's ok. It only took me four calls to four separate Three shops to get that out of them (having been told any number of conflicting stories by sales staff). But second - fine -at 3p a minute. I'll but £10 credit, no bundle, problem. So what happens after I spend an hour on the phone to a mobile in France (£1.80 by my calculation and I think you'll agree) - oh! no more credit! Quelle Surprise!!

So does anyone know what dirty little T&C Three have repeatedly not told me about here? Thank goodness I don't have a contract with them is all I can say. Three = PYG only...:(

You do understand the difference between making international calls and roaming, I hope?

    Edit

Having said that, international calls to France on PAYG do appear to be 3p a minute.

Was it definitely a standard French mobile you called?

Obviously not, but judging by the number of similar posts in recent weeks, I'm surprised by the number of people who make this mistake.

Oops, no reply, . Looks like Mikesmoney is £10 ;)less than it used to be. It does appear confusing, but calling a mobile in France is not the same as an international call to a landline, or is it?

its an international call to either from UK.

The mobile you are using is NOT roaming outside of the uk!

You sure it's a French mobile in France you called on PAYG?

If so contact 3 to complain rather than gripe here?

Certainly it should be 3p/min for both French landline and French mobiles.

  • The OP has 3 threads to their name with just the 3 posts so they've not bothered going back to any of them, don't hold your breath.

If you ever want detailed info about a mobile phone account. their shop is not the place to ask. It's staffed by sales reps who are solely trained in parting you from your money, many of them will tell you what they believe you want to hear, truth plays little part in it.
