Hi there

I have a share certificate and would like to sell the shares. I wonder if anyone can tell me which company I should sell through to pay the minimum commision? I have read through lots of previous posts but they are mainly about investing etc. This will be a one off as I am not interested in buying/selling on a regular basis. Any help would be great. TIA

halifax or xo or many other brokers will transfer from a cert and then you can ask them to sell as per normal

Ive not tried the other two but Ive tried a few and xo is basically fine especially on small trades

that I wonder whether a 'sticky' could be started to gather information and links on these types of questions and act as a database?

A sticky would be handy, although users opinions differ, and experiences change over time. I did check this and other threads - but positive opinions 18 months ago count for nothing if their CS has fallen through the floor or their front end has had a revamp that's basically cack... That's the only reason I asked it again

I come from the GIOL sub-forum, and they rely heavily on stickies as the same questions get asked at least once a day there. A few "noobs guides" would probably save a good chunk of annoyance though
