Natwest/RBS have started doing the new unembossed cards. I know this because I had to order a new card for my Natwest account and they sent one of their new ones (without the bumpy numbers) with a leaflet explaining that the new design should last longer and that it works exactly the same as my old bumpy numbered card.

The Child’s branded card is exactly the same. Smooth and flat, no bumpy!

So for anyone interested, to get the card, I applied online and selected Fleet Street as my branch. I got paperwork to check over and sign a few days later and it did name my branch as a ‘Child’s branch’ which was a nice confirmation.

I'm moving back to the UK from the USA and my salary with bonus will be around 120k GBP, I had looked at Child and other Premier account offerings but I haven't made a decision yet.

I'd like to see the card out of curiosity. thanks for sharing the info.

Natwest/RBS have been trialing printed(not embossed) debit cards with their Premier customers for few months and will be now rolling out those cards to all their customers. However as I understand, even the branding is printed over the card and looks different that the silver detailed branding on the Blue, embossed Child & Co debit card previously seen on this forum. They basically look like the old Visa electron, and look less solid/well made. I have seen a new RBS card just received by a colleague and I would like to see an example of the new C&C one . For those of you that have one, you can take the picture, cover or blur the personal details, and post it on an image hosting site. You then need to copy the link to that image and post it here.

Out of curiosity, what's the criteria for being accepted for this? I just opened an RBS account to take advantage of their switching bonus and had to choose a branch 50 miles away anyway. If I could have got a fancy card just for using a different sort code I'd have been all over it!:rotfl:

I can update this thread. I got the RBS reward black account and got the C&C card, it is un-embossed, it's quite attractive but it does appear poorly made. i'll post a pic with the number covered.

Is this the dark blue one or the special one that the C&C Private customers get?

Do the physical statements come with C&C logos and branding or is it the same as the online ones with RBS?

I get online statements and just checked it and it has RBS branding, just states Reward Black at the top, but nothing special.

to compare oranges to oranges i'll confirm my situation.


I applied to Reward Black since i make over 100k and they approved me with 10k over draft. It's the blue card, nothing special at all tbh and i called them a few times and had no special service.


i think i'm just a normal RBS customer at this point.
