  • I can finally see the bottoms of the washing basket for the first time since November (prior to having the bedroom plastered)
Pre child I would do three loads of washing on a friday night Post Work, if the weather was pants it would get hung up on arises inside and was all dry and put away by Sunday evening prior to returning to work on a Monday. Oh, how I long for those days. The completed finisher side to my personality hates washing as you can never say it's completely done. Oh well, small wins I guess.

I've been loving this week's lists, I've fallen off the bandwagon a bit due to the poorly two year old, but I have, as always, been reading along for the ride.

I need to go and get a parcel from the sorting office which opens at 7, then we are off to a famous local market to get the meat, fish & fresh stuff for Christmas, then I hope we are done with shopping. I've not iced the Christmas cake yet, job for tonight and tomorrow. I also need to sit down and work put my Christmas dinner cooking timings once we've bought the meat.
Have a lovely 'final weekend before Christmas' weekend.

  • Hi all

Wide awake at 4.30am, that's a new one, its been 5am most days this week. So I am up and browsing the internet, DS wants some smart trousers for NY Eve and I have found some for £6 massively reduced but no idea if he will like them or if they will fit. Have ordered them anyway.

Big family get together later and I am in charge of food so lots to do. Some friends calling with presents at some point, the dog to take to my parents (he doesnt like big gatherings) and one girlfriend to pick up.

House is tidyish, presents are bought and wrapped, fridge, freezer and cupboards full .... we are getting there.

Oh .. but I havent bought parsnips. Will DS1 want them on Xmas Day I wonder (no-one else is keen).

Completely and utterly dead :(. I managed to save the sim and put that in an ancient phone so that I had one for emergencies. Yesterday I had to bite the bullet and get a new one - nothing flash, as I can't be trusted, and anyway technology and me are a poor mix. Luckily I got an unexpected Christmas bonus from work, so that just covered the cost. Today's job is to set it up.

DD has planned to do nothing today, so I hope that holds. I am off out for a walk soon with a friend to actually get some daylight fresh air, then I have various outside jobs to do as it isn't raining. The school uniform is in the wm but yet another pile of ironing is shouting for attention.

Dinner will be in the sc, so only minimal effort required there. Apparently the mince pie tin is empty though....and it wasn't me!

Have a lovely day with your family, YL.

Thank you to all who sent me Flylady cards, and to Natty for organising the swap. They'll look lovely on the kitchen windowsill when I have cleared and dusted it ;) Is it awful to admit that I have already the chocolate coin enclosed with one card? :o It was just too tempting!

Slow progress here this week, but hopefully I have written the last of my cards. I was out at 6.45 this morning, managed to get a head of Romanesco (I love the Christmas tree shaped florets :xmastree:), delivered a 70th birthday card to a friend and Christmas cards to the neighbours, took DH to work on the heritage railway, and on the drive home enjoyed a glorious sunrise over the hills - I'm so thankful that the days are lengthening again now :) I've also booked for a training afternoon in February.
At 10.00 I have to pop round to pick up something from a friend, then I need to plonk myself firmly down in front of my PC and get things sorted for tomorrow and Monday, which also involves sending some emails. When that's done, Rosie will want her walk and I am hoping to put up the last of the outdoor lights (hoping the rain will hold off) before I have to go and fetch DH.

Keep calm, Flyfriends, and have a great weekend, especially if it's your family get-together xx

Freezer inventory done, and I've cleared 4 drawers so one freezer is currently defrosting.

Just having a cuppa, fridge next.

    I ate mine too :D

    Morning all

I'm hoping that I haven't peaked too early today :o I've made the bed; done the laundry shuffle; put two loads through WM; recycled two cardboard boxes; wrapped a batch of presents - just 7 left to do of my own and I've informed DS that I'm happy to wrap any presents for him tomorrow (as in: do not wait until teatime on Christmas Eve before saying 'Mu-u-umm, would you wrap these gazillion awkwardly shaped presents for me please?' :D ). I've also fed the birds; put out the rubbish; paid a bill and renewed my TV licence.

Time for a brew :T Mince pie anyone? (Delivered by Mr T not pilfered from Fayolle's tin :D)

I am clean and dressed, fridge is sorted, bed is made, washing up is done.
I'll pass on the mince pie, as I'm currently having an early lunch of DHs leftover Chinese takeaway from last night.

Next will be the big shop, can't put it off any longer.

been to town with DS to 'help' him Christmas shop. I 'helped' him find a gift for a special lady in his life that is extremely bargainous as it has my day/hight cream in plus other stuff and was £11 less than the cost of the day/night cream separately and now I don't have to feel guilty not buying it because it's such a good bargain. And I used MY advantage card. And I am the special lady lol.
I have also ensured DD gets something she will use - voucher for her favourite shop as she'll need more smart work clothes for her new job in January.
And I have wrapped the gifts he bought for his dad and his dad's wife. because I am nice.
And I've been taken out for coffee (and toasted panettone nyom) and he generously tipped in the cafe and let a lady go before him in Tesco. Proud mum
