Yes jwil i agree, all mine are at proper school from sept and though childcare will go up again because of breakfast and afterschool clubs it will be more manageable. My defaults will drop 2022/23 ish i think. Mortgage is us up this sept but im hoping i can automatically renew online for another 5 years for a reasonable/similar rate.
Its been easier since going self managed as ive settled a couple if smaller ones and based the budget on our normal jobs income to allow me to save for the wedding. Just need to stop sending the savings ....although at least a car is real spending not wasted junk...we hope.
Not sure how old/what size/whether you have boy or girl littles but i will have grey pinafores in age 3 and 4 going spare over the next few weeks if you want them.
Aww thank you. My little miss is only 3 but she's tall so in 4-5 already  I dread to think what she'll be in when she starts school!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
Ive got one twin taller than the other so im hoping to only buy one new set of pinafores. Ive got aged 5 already in use but taller twin is going to be age 6 or 7 by sept. An hoping shorter one can stay same size bless her and make do with the age 5 for now and ill buy some new age 6.
Had news that breakfast/afterschool club is being taken over by school not the private firm who runs it now. Cyrrent staff have been told their jobs arent safe which i think is most unfair and daft as they are v experienced. Emailed the head teacher today to say i hope its a smooth transition with continuity of care espec as staff have been trying to get to know the twins before they even start school Hope he got the message and it all works out for them. Its a good set up apart from the price. Ha haJan 18 Joint debts 35,213

Hi kitten868. Thanks for popping by. Dh is a nightmare. Subs for beer and petrol etc. He pays it back but its continuous and affects my flipping budget as hes always short by week 3 of his month.
Debt knowledge was all gained on the boards. I claim no credit for that.
Thankfully payday lending hadnt really got going when we built the debt so i didnt have that hassle.
The nature of my job means i prob couldnt shorten it to much but i fully intend to....not get given a place for all 3 children .... on at least 1 morning... from september so i have to ask to start later and finish later. Im sure it will happen as i have accidentally on purpose not put their name down for one of the days to save money. I reckon i can alter my hours one day a week without too much arguing. X school hours working would be a dream. If only to have everyone rounded up and back home at a reasonable hour.Jan 18 Joint debts 35,213

Well i made it to payday with the slight hiccup of needing a new windscreen... 75 cost as excess as it was on insurance policy thankfully. Fortunately or not its happened at the payday point so i can pay it then earn it again by the end of the month. Ive been signed off for bank job at my old place which technically is job number 3. I can only work one at once though and have planned my tax credits around 3 -4 shifts a month so i wont be hammering it. Ive had a f and f offered at 44% payable which im considering but i need to rework my finances after my car fiasco and get my quote for car insurance before i decide to go ahead or not. Im determined to get below the 30 k mark again.Jan 18 Joint debts 35,213

Ive broke the 30k barrier again. Im finally back under and determined not to go past it ever again. Ive done a f and f on my smallest DCA. Im feeling very pleased. It took some interesting finacial jigginh and means paying car insurance etc monthly again which im slightly downhearted about but the offer at 44% payable saved me far more than the car insurance will.
29692 still to go.. but i should break 29k by xmas.Jan 18 Joint debts 35,213

Thankyou. I havent paid all that money off though as ive done 3 f and f since going self managed. I can pretend though. Going to plod for a while now i think on the debt front and get the savings back up. The other totals in my name are all high so will be a few years off yet. Still got two more passports to pay for and spends to carry on finding. Feel better now im back under 30 though. Next target is to have mortgage and debt combined total to be less than 100k. Hopefully by next spring xJan 18 Joint debts 35,213

Exciting news. The fix on our mortgage ends soon and today we could officially look for a new deal with our provider. We have been on a five year fix at 3.59 -which at the time was needed as we knew we would be looking to default and was actually a reasonable rate back then for our LTV and circumstances.
Anyhow back to the point. Weve been offered another 5 year fix at 2.19% which will save us 49 pounds a month. Yipeeeee. And the best news is it starts from the next payment as opposed to sept when our previous fix ran out. Yayyyyyy.
I know there are better deals to be had if you have a credit rating but we dont and 5 years will give us a good head start for sorting debt issues and it didnt require affordability checks.
V happy and relieved that mortgage is affordable for 5 more years xJan 18 Joint debts 35,213
