To follow up on the above, GoCardless, who I believe process DDs for Together Energy, claim to be able to give just 3 working days notice of a DD payment in this post

Deafening silence here re DD -no emails - No sign of one being set up at the bank either.
I have had another missed call from a Glasgow number - and one search engine suggests it's Together Customer Services.
If I'm in, I'll answer it next time:rotfl:
At a guess, you cancelling your DD mandate so early on has forced them into agreeing a new one with you. Which could be quite handy if you are planning to leave with minimal energy consumption.

@masonic - haven't actually made a decision re onward move - but I'm determined not to pay them anything until I have an account to look at with a reference number and showing the opening meter read I gave them ~2 weeks ago.

As I have a really good gas fix until next October with another supplier, there aen't any obvious alternative leccy suppliers unless I leap into the frying pan with yet another small supplier. eg Utility Point

I'm not able to save much by switching either, but I've seen some rather concerning feedback from existing customers that makes me less keen to stick around for longer than necessary.

Do let us know how they respond to you if you get the opportunity to speak to them and share your position regarding seeing account information before paying.

I cancelled my OneSelect DD due to be collected on 21st December. I have been informed by Together that they have set up a DD to be collected on 2nd January & on 21st of the month hereafter. There is however no sign of a DD for Together when viewing my bank account online.

I too am not prepared to pay Together anything until I have an account to look at with a reference number and showing the opening meter read I gave them 2 weeks ago.

I have not authorised a DD in favour of Together so if they attempt to take money via a DD that I have not agreed to then I will claim the money back under the DD Guarantee.

    So when can we switch?
I've had the email to say what the tarriff will be and an email to say how much my DD will be (they're not taking that til Feb)
Do I need to wait for an account number or something?

I rang Together Energy on Christmas Eve (Monday) because i've had barely any contact from them (2 emails, 1 about getting switched and 1 about the tariffs) and chatting with the woman i was told that my account would be fully set-up on or before the 2nd January and that my first DD would also be going out on the 2nd Jan.

This timeline also fits in with the Ofgen regulations of changes taking a maximium of 21 days. Since the switch was started on 14th Dec, the 21 day limit would take use to 4th Feb.

So from this i would presume that we can start switching then, or at most the next day or two. (hopefully someone with experience can confirm this.)

EDIT: If you have both Electric and Gas with the same company then you can use the "findmysupplier" free search service to see if you've switched Gas supplier. Unfortunitely there doesn't seem to be a version for this that electric only customers can use.

My direct debit was taken as expected today via the new Together Energy DD. I've still not received information about this new DD - only a notification that the details were accidentally sent to a different customer.

M1ller, given there is a cooling off period at the start of the switching process before anything happens, starting a switch now would seem fairly safe if you've been assured your account would be open by the 2nd January.

Still nothing about an account number or even an account being set up. But today I got another email from them, this time saying that money will be taken out in a couple of days and not the beginning of February as they said in a previous email.
Is the 21 day limit working days or calendar days?
