although CS argued that they had the product was on the wrong shelf (?) and the price on the package was correct
In Tesco today I checked their Price Promise and it says "if we don't charge the price on shelf or the price on the packaging" so they could make a case - if the item has a price on it they could argue that you knew what you were buying and stand their ground?

    there's always a pedant ;)

in the very early days of chat on t'internet most were 3 letter hence the use of the word 'TLA' to describe them. A lot are now longer than 3 letters so I shall amend my post to say 'abbreviations' to save any confusion :)

I've been checking for mis-pricing in my local Tesco with no luck - until today!

Jarlsberg cheese was £7.48/kg on the shelf, but £7.99/kg on the pack. As this was going to be my first time trying to get a refund, decided just to take 2 packs rather than the lot! Then found pork joints with a shelf sign saying reduced from £2.68/kg to £2.65, but still £2.68 on the pork itself - again, got 2.

After checkout I went to customer services about the overcharge - and got a £14.46 refund. Yay!!!

There was a lot of cheese left on the shelf, and 3 more pork joints, but unfortunately the assistant removed the shelf price tags.

I also bought the organic beef burgers and the Birds Eye beef in gravy, together with 2 boxes of the Fitness cereal to try out the £3 Joey vouchers another day.

My total shopping was £46+, refund £14+, net cost £32. Received almost 900 points which will convert to more than £32 in offers, so effectively a free day's shopping, and still £6 in vouchers to spend.

    This makes shopping interesting!

Thanks to everyone for the info.

I checked price promise in store today and read it as if we get the price wrong on the shelf OR the packet we will refund.

Went to Kingston park tesco to check out the amazing things I have been reading on this thread, and got 3 packs of organic brie, 10.80 on pack 8.80 on shelf, 6 pack of mild medium size cheddar (expires October) 3.34 on shelf 3.35 on pack, and a organic stilton 3.83 on pack 3.53 on shelf.

CS not happy at all went off to check with produce manager, who offered half price, which I was going to accept and then speak to head office, but instead asked to speak to duty manager, she didn't actually speak to me, but called over and b*ll*cked person on produce, then had the CS guy refund me in full.

Felt a bit of an eejit, but for £16 of free cheese, i'll put up with it.
There is nothing either good or bad but thinking makes it so.
