Got medium cheddar - £4.99 per kilo on pkt - £4.96 on shelf. Customer services said I was only entitled to about 1p refund - I don't think so. Got my refund plus cheese.

Finally I've been able to join in :) I don't eat meat so I've been trying to find one of the cheese errors. North Harbour had cut the price off the parmesan shelf label :(. Bought 3 packs (about £7.50) at Tesco in Pompey (city centre) today. All refunded - lovely jubbly (ticket removed).....will have a tasty cheese & potato pie I think for starters. I used a £2 coupon form Zing that expires today and a few quid of other ones. Also found 6 birds eye roast beef (66p ea) for 300 clubcard points.

Thanks Rockingham for the cheese tip-off & everyone for posting their finds.
  • so what happens? if it says £4.99 a kilo on the packet but it says £4.96 a kilo on the shelf..... if I'm charged £4.99 i get a refund?

You should get a refund and keep the cheese yes. If you look back in this thread this has already been answered....but take my example today.

Shelf label stated £4.96/kg. Price of pack £2.58.....but per/kg price on pack listed as £4.99/kg. That means they have overcharged me. Not quite as obvious as it's the weight price that is wrong (it went through the till at £2.58)..... just that the £2.58 was calculated based on the wrong (higher) price.
  • Fluffybunny - if you are overcharged you get a refund and get to keep the product too!

Meanwhile I got another 4 packs of Tesco rindless back bacon - £1.58 on packet and £1.38 on the shelf. :rotfl:

I couldn't find any of the things people have posted but did stumbe accross lamb shoulder £3.69/kg on packet and £3.39/kg on shelf. There were lots of packs priced correctly and only 2 priced at £3.69/kg, as I hadn't done this before I just picked up the one. I did get a refund and got to keep it. Having it for dinner tonight. Well pleased :)

Well first time at this and shot myself in the foot.

Harris Smoked Rineless Back Bacon (2 pack) - £3.78 on shelve & £4.42 on the pack.

Got to checkout and I was charged the shelve price of £3.78 :(

Should have asked if there was a self price check point first - I didn't see one.

At least I got £6.50 knocked off the final bill with a Joey voucher and various others I'd collected over the past week.

Got the bacon although CS argued that they had the product was on the wrong shelf (?) and the price on the package was correct. When I asked to see the Manager they tutted and refunded the money.

Thanxs to all postee's of wrongly priced goodies.
Watch out for Freddie the Fox at the Shay !!
  • Just got back from Tescos Cardiff, bought some rindless back bacon (Tescos own) £1.38 on shelf priced at £1.58 on packet. Got refund no problem but the Customer services woman took the shelf price off the shelf. Mmmm ...... will try Tescos in Barry tomorrow!

No joy on this for me, we don't have a self scan and it was marked wrong on pack to shelf but it did scan at correct lower price advertised, ah well can't win them all!!
  • Just got back from Tescos and I got the cheese! LOL !

It said £4.99 on the pack but £4.96 on the shelf. ...hadnt done this before but went to CS and just said that it was £4.99 on the pack but £4.96 on the shelf. I'd bought two packs (£5.17 total). She went to check, came back....mumbled to a colleague that it was 3p difference , didnt say a word to me but handed me £5.17 cash and the cheese!!!

Well chuffed!!! She'd removed the shelf price so sorry to anyone else out there!

Also bought the Birds eye Beef in gravy!!!!

I bought 21 boxes and a few other bits and bobbs as well.....total came to £35, handed over a wodge of coupons to a young lad......he scanned them all!!! I only ended up paying £12 for everything, which included 1600 clubcard points and got two of the Fitness cereals (BOGOF) with two £3 Joey coupons!! When I got my refund for my cheese, it all only cost £6 odd!

    Not a bad day today!!!

Thanks to all for the info!!!
