Merry Christmas SF! This thread is awesome!

#39 reporting a tinie weenie £13.52 for December! I've been trending a negative number all month as I had to use savings to pay a £285 tax bill, but christmas came early and yesterday my numbers finally went positive! All helped from my stocks and shares ISA.

So in summary this year my target was 5k which was always going to be challenging on a shoestring. I finally managed to save £2230.35 and reached 45% of my savings target. Overall I am happy, I'm carrying more debt than I want to and my goal for next year is to stabilize the debt by increasing my income. I need a better job which I am actively looking for. So we will see what 2020 brings. :j

I'm already signed up for 2020 at #51, so looking forward to picking up the reins again in January.

    2). #7 Save 1p a day challenge 2025 £150/£780

    3). £2109.85/£3000 in Investment ISA (34/50 investments)

4). Increase cash savings & saving pots

5). Keep debt to a minimum.

  • #11 Checking in after a bit of an absence but still saving hard.

I think I might have messed up the submission forms so will check back in a few days and updated accordingly!

Currently at £17.498.31 of my £20k target, unlikely to quite hit that target now but fairly happy with how we did...had there not needed to be a new boiler in the summer I'd have made it!

Off to sign up for 2020, thanks slowlyfading.

Last declaration for the year for me of
    £300

I have not saved anywhere near where I thought I would but my employment ceased in March so had to tighten up the purse strings to cover bills and credit cards and alike so with that in mind I think I haven't done too badly,

Im looking forward to seeing how 2020 treats me

Managed to save an extra £2,000 over the last couple of months, helped by a ppi payout. I’ve updated the form to add it for December.

    Thanks for updating this year.

Off to join next year’s challenge.
  • I'm submitting my final amount-£1500- for this year. Any odds and sods will be adjusted in Jan 2020. I'm wanting to be cracking on with the new year, new target and possibly retirement (and an amended target in that case).

See you all on the new board! Have a merry Christmas and all the very best to you all for a peaceful and PROSPEROUS 2020. Thank you Slowlyfading for all your work on keeping us motivated. :xmassmile
    Save £12k in 2022 thread #7:

    Save £10,000 Jan-May 2022 THEN RETIRE!!
Final total for (half) year: -£4,000
  • I'm submitting early too, as not much will change in the last few days of 2019 and xmas is going on the credit card! Although it won't be an expensive one this year as a lot of the extended family are away/abroad so I'm expecting a quiet one with OH and no.1 son.

December costs include a big chunk of last month's fortnight in the Canaries and tickets to see no.2 son in panto! Reporting £1656.78 for December therefore and an annual total of £20814. That's under target but near enough so I'm happy.

Hope to see everyone on the 2020 board!

  • Declaring £3589 for December which brings my total for the year to £32,890:j

Thanks again SF for running the thread. See everyone over on the 2020 thread.
