Just caught up with everyone's progress and WOW there's some amazing savings happenings!
I feel a bit "small fry" reporting in with my January total of £169 towards my £1000 target for my ISA. However I'm pretty pleased with that, combination of Tilly Tidying, getting some travel expenses from work and generally squeezing the food and fuel budget a bit. It's just a beginning but I'm feeling heartened already to see a balance in that account.
Goal for February is to get to £225 at least. I'm due about £33 in expenses in the next couple of days so that will certainly help. I have a pot of change that I'm going to live off for as much of the month as possible. However it's my daughter's birthday this month so a bit more EC than usual. Luckily she's at the age right now where she just wanted a couple of friends to come for tea and then a trip to climbing wall so not too bad really.
Best wishes to all and thanks for the motivation!2019 Savings Challenge - challenger number 86 - £169/£1,000

Actually, while I think about it, additional February goal is to call mortgage company and jump through their capital overpayment hoops. They make it a bit of a pain but that's no excuse! There, accountable to the internet so I have to now!:rotfl:2019 Savings Challenge - challenger number 86 - £169/£1,000

There are indeed - I've updated the

#114 here. Hello all. Bumped up the pot by a further £316 courtesy of a tax refund that appeared in my bank account this morning. Good to see that the taxman is on the ball with issuing refunds as he is with chasing under payments. Revised January total now at £2,116.0

Hello all,
I know its late on in the month (almost the last day) but I would both like to join with a target of £12k for 2019 but also add savings of £1k for this month.
The target will be a stretch this year as have a few things to go on around the house (new flooring) and have just paid for a ski holiday, but fingers crossed I should be able to do it as I am currently doing some extra hours at work to make up for it
So Update #1 Jan totals £1,000 / £12,0000 -
£966.08 saved for January. Hopefully I won't be saving as much this year as I'm sort of planning a big holiday, but hopefully the "house deposit" fund will continue to go up (and one day I might decide where I actually want to buy a house!)Start mortgage date: August 2022; Start mortgage amount: £240,999; Original mortgage free date: August 2056

Well, I am declaring 4000 for Jan!! Looks like I was emergency taxed when I switched jobs in Dec & they didn't take into account that I'd been off for two months before that - it won't be nearly as much in the next few months, but man this is great!!
I do expect a few things to come through though next month: Delay repayments (£5), compensation for phone call & transport from Swiss (close to £40) and a reimbursement of my gym membership by work. But for a start, this is awesome!!
Keep it going folks!#115 - Save £12k in 2019 challenge: £13152.85/29419.55 - 44%

Hi all,
I've had a slow start to the year but have been booking a few things for holidays later in the year.
Still I managed £357 for Jan. No 49.
Happy saving everyone !!No. 5 in the 'Save 12k for 2021' thread.

Also, Slowlyfading - the form actually says 'overpayments' - not savings...not sure this is on purpose?#115 - Save £12k in 2019 challenge: £13152.85/29419.55 - 44%
