Hi gang, first update of the year from me - £722.55 saved
This is a fair bit more than the amount I want to be saving on average so I'm pretty happy with that, although a bunch of it has come from refunds and delay repay so unlikely to continue through the year... So far so good
Happy new savings year guys :beer:0 -
I will update on the 31st. But, I just booked flights for myself and my parents for a June holiday (I am treating them - they would otherwise take the bus as its cheaper, but they are getting older & I don't want them to travel 24h instead of 1.5h via flight!) & I just paid for a one year membership at MoreYoga. Granted, I should be getting more than 50% reimbursed from work on this...but, still, January's figures are not looking great.
That said, with 5 days to go I still have over £90 of my budget for Jan left! Woop!
Really inspiring to see everyones numbers!! Keep going folks!!#115 - Save £12k in 2019 challenge: £13152.85/29419.55 - 44%

There are indeed - I've updated the
totaliser spreadsheet
going all the way back to start of the thread in 2012, it's so motivating to see so many people keeping the saving going like this.
I've also noticed a few people back after a break of a year or two - so a big welcome back! to

Hi,
Can I join you, please? I'd like to set a savings target of 12 000 for this year. Might be a bit ambitious but I've got a nice headstart of 2123.35, which just got transferred to my savings account. It is partly due to working lots of overtime in December and also a lovely little Christmas gift from my parents, so these kinds of numbers won't be repeated.
I'm also doing a mortgage op challenge here but I decided that saving will be another big issue as we have a holiday planned a year from now and will need to pay around 35k for renovations within the next few years. I should know more about the payment options and schedule in May, so then I'll be able to really decide which one is going to be my main focus. I'd love to be able to pay for the renovation in cash but I think it's very unlikely.
I'm saying "I" although it's really four of us, I'm just bringing home the bread and paying the bills.0 -
Just submitted my January save at £1054.89 I managed my £1k target so really pleased with my self. I have a bit more to come as have sold a couple of bits of furniture on ebay this weekend but will add that to Feb total. It is very inspiring to see so many people motivated to save loving the updates from everyone.Groceries Challenge 2019
