DO a google maps and see what the traffic is at various times of the day

I did this at 7am and it had 40mins.

Which bit of St.A are you trying to get to that may determine the direction.

doing a wide search on rightmove.

Luton Dunstable has the stock to work with.

Have you considered shared ownership to give more options?

What's the max commute you would go with.

Look at Milton Keynes,30 mins commute time on the A5 to Dunstable. Lots of nice villiages to the south of MK and one of the fastest growing towns in the UK.

Great for shopping and eating out.

  • I lived in Hatfield a long time ago, so I know the place well. The houses on the market for my budget are in areas I wouldn't want to be:D
    Why are houses so expensive???

Because you want to live in places and types of property which are beyond your budget?

Houses are expensive if you get a job that doesn't pay enough for you to live in that area. The South East is expensive but if you got a job that paid not quite so much but was in an area of the country where housing was much cheaper you would be able to buy.

The problem is that people only see the salary they don't see what that means you can't buy. There are equally good jobs in other areas of the country that pay a bit less but are enough for a single person to buy a house.
  • Yes make sense.
If I want to afford to buy here , I either need to earn at least 100k or have a partner.
