What do you do for a living? Can it only be done in St Albans? Do you have other ties to the area?0
-
No way . My budget is 260k.0

I have thought about relocating but I started in st Albans not long ago,and I like my job here. I know I could get more for my money elsewhere though, for example of I move up north.0

Does anyone live in Dunstable?0

I looked at Totternhoe a few years ago, as it is fairly close to the A5, then only a few miles to M1.
It has a pub and school, other than that, not much, but close to nice countryside.
Only one in your budget.

And there are one or two better parts of Luton.
Are you sure you cant find anything in St Albans, as the commute would still be a drain on your time and car costs. Plus people I know who did live there have seen HUGE increases in their properties values.

Have you considered Tring? There are a few properties (not many sadly) within your budget and it is quite quaint.0

I've looked and there's no house with garden within my budget0

Try going to the area straight after work,
That will be your normal commute time
I go through the area to the airport and it can get very congested.0 -
I'll leave early in the morning and can leave work before rush hour.
I would just like to know of Dunstable is a pleasant place to live as it seems to be the only place within reasonable commute distance where I can get a house with a garden for my budget0 -
I lived in St Albans for several years then moved to Luton as prices of properties got rediculous.
I prefer Luton to dunstable, there are nice areas within. Luton has improved due to the on going development, airport, jobs etc.
Dunstable I am not really a fan of to be honest. No train line like Luton straight into kingscross or St Albans. Your just in the middle of know where.
A lot of my colleagues lived in London and now live in luton with easy access to services.0
