Number 76 reporting in with a further overpayment for May. Other half had a tidy up of accounts and the garden isn't being dealt with until the end of the summer so might as well not sit around not making any interest.
Adding £2025.73 to May's overpayments to make a total of £6889.73 for the month

Looks like you hit your target, congratulations! Would you like me to increase your goal for the year? :)

Yes please. I hoped we would reach our target early but not this soon. So motivating seeing it add up over the months.
Can you change my target to £23000 please?
    Many thanks

That's all done. You can still see your progress against your original target towards the right in the spreadsheet :)

Managed to squeeze another £200 OP in May. So May OP finished at £653.93 and YTD £2056.64

  • Hi there
Popping in with my update for, I think the first time. Sorry can't see the spreadsheet due to work's firewall. I've really been ignoring everything that isn't critical this year, as there have been so many changes happeing at work and so many things to deal with at home. Thankfully the standing orders and direct debits have been working their magic. So I've been making a regular O/P of £777.81 each month:

    #2:
    Jan: 777.81
    Feb: 777.81
    Mar: 777.81
    Apr: 777.81
    May: 777.81
    TOT: 3,889.05

Would love to be able to squeeze a few extra payts out of the salary but every spare penny is going on building work and replacement fencing! Whilst essential to keeping the walls around me, saving for the work is nowhere near as enjoyable as seeing my mortgage balance go down.

    Take care everyone

#132 reporting an OP of £250 (total) for May.

And a wonderful realisation this morning that we are mortgage neutral with our savings. Much of it tied up in ISA and S&S ISA but neutral all the same. What an amazing feeling!

#106 here. Have made a final £65 payment for May against the mortgage account. Please can I also increase the target from £15,000 to £20,000? It could be a little ambitious considering that main financial priorities are to maximise both pension and S&S ISA contributions but I guess that this is why this is called a challenge! Thanks,

    May total: £1,515
    2019 total: £7,603 / £20,000
