    Hi Julicorn

Can I join please? I've not been involved for a couple of years after mini Miffy arrived and took all my time but I have still been busily overpaying! My old number has been taken over so I'll need a new one please.

Hoping for £250 per month this year, £3,000 total (possibly increasing in the autumn once we get our 30 free hours at nursery...)

We're heading into the last 3ish years of mortgage slavery if we can keep this up....

    Thanks
    Mortgage balance £21,251.37 2 Oct 2019
    Mortgage balance £63,086.48 24th Mar 2015
Original mortgage end date Aug 2033, aiming for Jan 2022
    2019 MFW #132 £4350/£3000

#8 starting the year with an OP of £1604.03, which takes me out of the 60's and into the 50's, and also means that I've hit my £135k to sub-£60k MFiT-T4 target :D

More to come later in the month

    Congratulations Lomcevak!!!

I've made a few little Tilly Tidy OPs today from various current and savings accounts to start off my year with an OP of £144.44.

I've decided that though I'm going to make little Tilly Tidy type OPs, I am going to save my "regular" mortgage OPs into a stocks and shares ISA. I am still going to consider these as mortgage OPs but this money is going to be our financial freedom fund as it gives us more flexibility than paying off the mortgage does. If we wish to retire early / go travelling for a year / reduce our working hours, then we will use the money for this. I am aiming for mortgage neutrality rather than mortgage freedom. Onwards!!

  • Hi I'm new to the forum, could I join the challenge please? Aiming for £2500 overpayment over the year.

    Thank you! X
  • Good morning everyone

Hope your New Years are off to a great start!

    My first o/p of the year is done: #2 with o/p £777.81 / £8,000

So glad to get started. Not sure whether I will be able to maintain though as the boiler is dying and is apparently unfixable, so that's a new boiler to pay for. Oh well, best laid plans and all that.

    Take care

#8 with an OP this morning of £10,000, total for the month of £11,604.03. Decided the 50's were overrated, so into the 40's :D

Wish every month was like this, sadly now back to chipping away at it :)
