Embarrassingly I've not accounted for a bunch of stuff in our budget meaning the overpayment goal I set is a bit out of reach

Please could I reduce my target to £4000? I'm #118. (I blame the Christmas Baileys!)

Happy new year everyone! Can I join please? I would like to OP £500 this year.

I normally overpay much more but I had a rethink on my priorities last year so I have very little cash left in the kitty over to OP. (Upped pension contributions as I want to have the option to retire early, saving to replace my windows and, as I hope to learn to drive this year, saving for a car!) I'm mortgage neutral now but it would feel wrong to not be OPing something as I've been OPing my mortgage since 2007 and the first MFiT challenge! My mortgage dipped below £10k for the 1st time testerday :j so even the teeny amounts now make a large difference. £500 this year would mean my mortgage being paid up 4 (almost 5) months early.

    £34.72 OP already made... :D
    Mortgage free as of 12/08/20!

Hi taka, thanks for joining! Great to hear you're so close to the end now :) You're our #126 this year.
  • Hi,

I don't think i was involved with the 2018 thread but would like to join the 2019 one!

I want my goal to be set at £5000. It's going to be tough as we are saving for a house extension too but after viewing the mortgage overpayment calculator and crunching some numbers it seems achievable!
    Mortgage 1: May 2012 £90,000 April 2020: £47,000
    Mortgage 2: £270,000😱 Jan 2019 £253,000 April 2020
