Hi julicorn, I'm a former MFW member, due to a variety of events I was inconsistent in my approach. However 2019 is a new year and I'm determined to get my act into gear. I am joining this group for the support and motivation it will provide. Feel free to allocate me any number, my target is £30000. Thank you.

Hi all. I've not taken part before but would love to join .
target for 2019 is to reduce balance by £8100

Recently taken out an offset mortgage so plan is to put into that rather than overpay per se but will be looking to use the balance to be mortgage free by June 2023 when our fixed rate comes to an end :j
    MFW 2020 #111 Offset Balance £69,394.80/ £69,595.11
    Aug 2014 £114,750 -35 yrs (2049)
    Sept 2016 £104,800
    Nov 2018 £82,500 -24 yrs (2042)

  • Hi
I was #115 previously, I’m happy to have a lower number if there’s one going. My overpayment target for 2019 is £3000. Thanks for doing this :)

Hi allmannerofthings! There aren't really any numbers available at the moment that are much lower than yours, so happy for you to keep yours for now - it's likely that there will be some up for grabs end of January though (that's how long I'm saving the numbers of people who were active last year, in case they want to keep them). Thanks for sharing your goal! :)

And with that, we're looking at a total goal of 3/4 of a million :j
  • I’m in, for £17,000 total please.

    Thanks x

Just made our last mortgage payments of 2018 - think on final count it was £18,000 overpayment on capital balance (£11k lump sum paid off at remortgage) and £18,900 paid to offset also.
Sadly that's pretty much all my accumulation of savings over the past few years (bar an emergency fund) thrown into the mortgage so no more big payments likely in 2019, hence the considerably lower £8100 target which is what we should be able to put to the mortgage over the coming year

Hi juliecorn, many thanks for running the thread this year :)

I think I’m still mfw 21 and my target for 2019 is £16,000 to be paid off the mortgage, happy new year from Newgirly.
    MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁
  • Another new poster here! Have been working on the OPs more seriously since April this year and have been able to OP £7000.

Keen to up the target in 2019 to £12,000. Think this would be a good way to keep accountable.

Might also start a diary too...
Hope you all enjoy the last couple of days of this year, roll on 2019.
