Nice welcome and I can understand all the recipe links etc but why are there a list of common questions about hyper whatevers mixed in with recipes? and three different ways of doing it, is their not one version on This Site.
right off to read about breakfast although I have had mine does a post start soon about lunches? I enjoyed reading about surprise dinners it sounds much like my freezer I never know what is in it. One day I will write it all down.

Hiya, welcome to MoneySaving
The welcome is in sections, our most widely used and read threads first, and then at the bottom of the page are the quick tips answering the most common "How do I?" questions. It was easier to have them on our page than having to point to the various help files each time. Now we can just point to one place and, if every new reader does as you have done, we may not even have to do that at all because you'll know where to find out for yourself.
As for three different answers to the hyperlink question - it all depends very much on which of the editors you are using - so we've given links to real answers to recent questions by members. Dead simple. Quite easy. And the all singing all dancing super duper one by sra.Hi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there. what are editors?0

Have a look at the guide by sra.
They are really not important until you want to post a fancy link to another thread on the forum or another site. You can still reply and ask questions the same as everyone else. In a way it is often best to join in on the threads and then when you want to post a link or alter your avatar (picture under your name) or anything else listed above, come back here and find out how to do itWhen life hands you a lemon, make sure you ask for tequilla and salt0 -
thank you both I have visited This Site and read some of sara's a-z and what I understand now if I am posting on Old Style I read your instructions and for the rest of the boards I go by this a-z.
Goodness it all gets complicated and I still have found the whats for lunch so I better go and read whats for tea.0 -
These links go to the A- Z on This Site board, they are exactly the same. We just made it easier to find because a few people on old style don't visit that board. When life hands you a lemon, make sure you ask for tequilla and salt0

I know I am new here and don't know my way around as yet but what happened to my posts from here?
Are we only allowed to post in certain places? I have now read sra's A-Z and thought I was beginning to understand the forum but now I am not so sure.0 -
No that's OK. The posts were removed because
a) They were not really part of the welcome thread since they were largely about how to post and why instructions were included here etc
and
b) they were left up long enough for you to see and read the replies and then removed to help keep this thread on topic.
It's no reflection on you at all. Honest
Some threads, such as these stickies at the top of the board, and others here on Old Style which are designated as "collections" have all posts removed that are not germane to the issue. These posts are usually left up for people to read for a day or so, and then removed. The Recipe Collection and Getting to Know You are two examples of this.
If an off topic post or question warrants it then I can split that post out of a thread and start a new thread completely for the original poster. We didn't see the need for that here so we just tidied up
Hope that helps.Hi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there. I have removed my post myself before it is deemed irrelevant.0

No it doesn't say so anywhere, and you're right, perhaps it should.
I have not stoped you from asking questions - merely removed them and their answers after a space of time.
I take note of your limited access and will leave your question and this response visible for longer.Hi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there. Maybe a less "controlling" environment would be helpful to more posters, or if you don't want people to post to this thread then perhaps you could lock it and direct people to ask questions in the main body of the board"An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will"

It is that what you do, good or bad,
will come back to you three times as strong!
