If there is a second referendum ...

the electorate isn't allowed to demonstrate if it has changed its mind
Are you trying to say electorates are allowed to change minds because Leave won and if Remain wins next round then they are not allowed to change mind any more?
If 2nd referendum happens, then it should be after 5 years after public has a chance to see how UK is performing outside EU.
Then it would be an informed decision based on facts and reality.Happiness is buying an item and then not checking its price after a month to discover it was reduced further.0 -
It's already really really bad. This is a mess that's going to run for at least a generation.0

You're only saying that because you want to frustrate democracyLeaving is just a way of inflating the wealth of a few rich people
Now they switch on their TVs and see their MPs failing to deliver and jockeying in the Westminster bubble for their own narrow agendas without much thought for the people.0 -
I understand feeling run high on both sides but there can be no greater betrayal of democracy than a failure to deliver on the 2016 vote.
.
I agree, but you make out its remainers trying to frustrate the process. Its also leavers. The latest crisis p[utting the delivery of brexit in doubt (the vote of confidence) was caused by leavers, not remainers.0 -
If we hold a referendum now then we can choose between remaining on the same terms, or financial disaster.
Why financial disaster? The world is a rapidly changing place. Being part of the EU guarantees absolutely nothing. As each country operates in it's best interests. Not the collective good.0 -
This is not a decision to go outside and play hide and seek and then deciding as it's raining that we want to come back inside. We should not flip flop such a significant mandate that was placed upon the Government.
All people that voted did so on an individual basis we cannot ascertain, maybe they thought they would be better off, maybe it was a "protest" vote, maybe they were content with the risk that prevailed, maybe they were not. All we can be certain is that the people voted.
Parliament should therefore deliver. All we are getting is the usual noise and in fighting that we get from those with vested interests.0 -
You may have, but others didn't as Leave was trying to be all things to all people. So is May, now.
If leave had been clear about the outcome, and people still voted for it, then we'd have been out by now.
If people were unsure what it meant or not content with the level of risk, and there has been a few chicken lickens running for both sides, why did they not vote differently?
In or Out? There were no qualifying or amplifying criteria that could effectively have been provided either way as we all recognise the VI's shout their own propaganda.
We will only know the benefits and outcomes if we go and after we go, everything else has a probability between 0 and 1. Therefore, Parliament and not just the Government, as there are confusers and stallers on both sides, should crack on and deliver.
We as a Nation should then rise to the challenge and demonstrate our true capabilities on a world stage.0 -

Do people realise that the WTO tariff on some items is 45%?
Do people realise how much inflation will go up by when most (especially lower paid - a lot of those who voted for this) are on incomes which are already not going up by inflation & if they are on any benefits of any kind are not going up at all?
Do people actually believe that it is mostly people over 65 who voted for this? I know many over 65s & only one I know voted for this & I also know several 40-55s who did vote for it.
But now maybe it is time we let Ireland re-unify & let Scotland completely devolve & join the EU on their own terms. Because lets face it this country is totally (inserted 6 letter word starting f or 7 letter word starting s).
We don't trust our government at all - you can't trust a word coming out of an MPs mouth & basically they are all in it for the money/future seats on the board. Integrity has become a swear word.
If I was 40years younger I'd be emigrating!0 -
In Italy all media say that the possibility of a second Brexit referendum are increasing.
Is there something true or are all news to take audience on their tv channel/journal?
And 52% of british people are for "remain"0
