A weak currency also means more expensive imports so any imported food will become more expensive, as will fuel and all sorts of other necessities.0

I do not know why there are still so many people who see what a first rate cluster**** the tories and DUP have made of the negotiations, think that somehow such an embarrassing bunch of incompetent clowns are going to safely manage us crashing out of the EU.
Yesterday’s embarrassing vote cancellation should have killed this government, but no we have to have a zombie government if the undead instead.0 -
Free trade doesn't mean tariff free trade
.
free trade
noun
noun: free trade; modifier noun: free-trade
international trade left to its natural course without tariffs, quotas, or other restrictions. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

it didn't kill the government because the opposition are equally clueless. Yesterday on that BBC special programme the Labour shadow minister was arguing that they would stay in the customs union and be able to do their own trade deals!0 -
I didn't see it but i'd hope they said A customs union, not the customs union.0

The main problem I have with this is the people who are shouting loudest are remainers who obviously lost the referendum. MPs voted overwhelmingly to give us an in/out referendum and promised to implement the result.
We have a big problem with our democracy if MPs turn round and effectively tell the people you got this one wrong so we will have another referendum.
Whether MPs voted remain or leave, they are duty-bound to deliver on the result...in fact 96% of Labour MPs voted to remain.
This referendum was about taking back control and restoring sovereignty to our Parliament. MPs are so far falling short of the mark as we entrust them to set the laws and to set an example.
As Macron has found out quickly, you go against the people at your peril.0 -
PM May was never going to be trusted with delivering a deal was she.
Certainly, not after a very poor GE undermined her credibility.
It might be that the price of securing "no FOM" was inevitably high. Who knows. Sadly, few of her political peers trust her.
Those referendum voters who voted to "poke the government in the eye"...they really did get the result they wanted. And then some.0 -

But the problem is they can't agree on how to implement the result... parliament has control, but no-one can agree on how to proceed! So a 2nd vote might be necessary if May can't adjust the deal and get it through. Not to tell people they got the vote wrong, but to clarify if they still want Brexit now that it is defined as a hard exit, not any number of possible options that were proposed previously. Its not ideal, but we may have no other alternative.0
