Android Tablet with hdmi port

I use 8" at present so could go for that again0

Have you guys not used Miracast?
No need to consider it, I have a HDMI port
plus, just because £200 may be a budget, why pay more than needed? There is a big difference between want and need - this is MSE after all......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple0 -

Indeed, but, depending on setup, wireless will often be more convenient. And now that we have a budget, we can recommend within that, I agree, no need to spend it all.
So, an 8 inch tablet with good battery life and good sound, budget £200....
I've got a Fire 8 which would do the job but that's not very original, is it? What else is out there?0 -
Looks like an exercise in "how to ask the right question" lolFriendly greeting!0

Would prefer basic Android, isn't the Fire version proprietary? As explained originally I want to use it to cast broadcasts from online weather chasing teams and US weather channels so not just things like Netflix and iplayer.0
-
Sorry if I missed it but why specifically do you need a tablet. Sounds like a computer would do assuming you have one.Friendly greeting!0

Fire is Amazon's version of Android. It has a different home screen, but the settings will look very similar, and the apps that go on it, are Android app. It comes with the Amazon app store, but it's easy, and perfectly OK, to install the Google Play Store. You do have adverts in the lock screen unless you pay more for the device though. Unless any of the above offends you, the Fire tablets are good cheap tablets and hard to beat at the price, when on offer.
How about these 10 and 8 inch tabs?

Yes I have a desk top but it is in an upstairs office not downstairs in the sitting room on the sofa in front of the TV where I watch mainstream TV there with a weather eye (pun alert) on the tablet and want to cast it onto the tv if a storm blows up.0

I would rather not have ads on my tablet as I do not want anything to interrupt the weather when I am live streaming. Nothing worse than some major storm wreaking havoc in real time only for it to be interrupted by a stream of ads.
I will probably be watching the weather I am casting through the tablet's browser not via an app. I am not going to be casting mainstream TV, I can get that via the LGos. I want to use the tablet to do the casting onto the tv and was thinking it probably needed to run standard Android for me to be sure it will interact with anything I find on line.0 -
My sister has a Lenovo tablet and the sound is not outstanding nor the battery life. How much would I need to pay to get good quality sound and a longer battery life than on the models suggested above?0
