Android Tablet with hdmi port

so you need two separate Chromecasts?0

No ... Chromecast Audio is a separate device (for audio streams only). A normal Chromecast support both audio and video.
Rather than us having to explain it all, a quick Google for Chromecast will give you all the info.0 -
This thread just shows how "technology advances" aren't always..well...advances
OP, I bought a cheap refurb 7" tablet off ebay for £30 with a mini-HDMI port on it purely for streaming to the tv..simple, just plug it in and select the correct hdmi port on the tv - job done......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple0 -
OK here's your TV.

It would be a confident first guess, on seeing a 4K Smart TV, that it'll be able to do some sort of wireless streaming.
Looking at the specs, it does indeed have 'Screen Share' - that's LG's name for Miracast as above. It also has 'Content Share', whatever taht is, and WiFi Direct.
So your TV's good to go. Forget about an HDMI port on the tablet, and look at some better ones. You'll want a good processor, and good Wifi performance. If a tablet only mentions B/G WiFi, forget about it, as a guide. You want it to be capable of 'N'. And your WiFi network needs to be good too.The Neocore budget tablet has a micro HDMI port and good reviews on Amazon
No!
And we're not doing Chromecast now that we know the TV has built in Miracast.
What's your budget for a tablet, OP, and we can have a look around for suggestions.0 -
£200ish and it needs good sound as my hearing is only average ( l blame too many Rock concerts in my youth but that's another story.) I should also like decent battery life - I do not want it running out of power in the middle of watching a major storm in the US and not tontske for ever to chargr. WiFi is fine - my TV is in downstairs room immediately below router overhead in room above.0

You need to explain why, bearing in mind that other posters have identified perfectly good tablets capable of meeting the OP's requirement to output a tablet's display to a TV via HDMI.
Quite...a wired connection will always beat wifi - and hdmi will also provide audio input to the tv, so if your tv is loud enough.....
As for tablet battery life, I use mine plugged in to the charger when streaming to the tv so battery life doesn't come into it......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......

Which assumes the mini-HDMI and charging ports are separate - if the tablet doesn't have such separate ports* .........
* Some use a "SlimPort" which doubles up as mini-HDMI and USB/power?0 -

Of course, I wasn't going to buy one where it was a common port!! That would be counter-productive, and is easily avoided with a bit of spec-check.... it's easy & cheap enough to find them, even if they're not the latest & greatest spec......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......

Also, lots of cheap tablets, that tend to be fat and have HDMI ports, are low spec and slow. Not all of them, but you would need to choose carefully.
And Miracast includes sound too, so the sound and picture will be coming out of the TV - a big improvement on a tablet. Have you guys not used Miracast?
We now have a budget of £200, and a requirement for good sound and battery life. Again, those are areas where budget tablets struggle. I should have asked what size OP wants - 7, 8, 10 inch.0
