working that is wonderful news and such a nice bonus and sometimes the little gift you need... we hada bad day yesterday my brother is a joiner and he was been called in for redundancies so he wasnt in the best of shape ... hes a joiner with big outgoings but obviously paying things off he is a tight !!!
but low and behold just as he was about to go in and plead his case the supervisor came and said sorry son theres been a mistake you are not to be here apparently they had a guy in assessing people and they had written that he was not safe to be left bla bla however no one knew this so when his boss saw what was written he argues and said that he had left my bro loads of times finishing off jobs when they had moved on to other sites he kicked up a right storm anyway its relaxing to say my brother still has a job for at least 18 months... im thankful all my family are in safe jobs i wish that was the case for some of my friends

We sold our second car last summer because of the cost, and it certainly makes a difference to our expenses. OK, sometimes it is a bit of a faff having to make do, but it has not been too bad. At least you will have the use of FiL car! Not bad at all!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. Wow! You are racing towards the finishing line at a pace now! I know you still have quite a bit to go but at the rate you are clearing the cards the end is definitely in sight!
I didn't tell you but I'd had an engine failure warning light on my car last year and it turned out to be a filter on my CAT which cost me nearly £300 to have put right! so well done on getting rid and how lovely that FIL will lend you his motor!
Whats the new DF date then?
My debt busting has ground to a total halt at the minute. We are in financial meltdown already this month and we only got paid yesterday! I will be back on track in July though so i'm trying not to stress, we are still making the mnimum payments and the debt is still going down, just not as fast as I hoped hey ho, got to live haven't you cgx
I'm off to do my 1st MS now and another takeaway one tonight so thats tea sorted at least!CC Debt: Jan 10 £21,660 now £8,170 hurrah!0 -

Thanks Compingirl. My car seems to be causing me nothing but grief at present. It went into the garage on Tuesday to have the warning light investigated (with the proviso that I'm selling it etc etc). They sorted out the intermittent warning light charing me £65 for the priveledge. Sorted I thought pick up FIL's car on Sunday, clean and valet mine over the weekend and get it listed on ebay or equivalent over the weekend.
...that was the plan...
Then on Thursday night on the way home from work the windscreen wipers packed up  We thought it might be the fuse so OH went and checked the fuse box with no luck. Lucky OH was working from home yesterday so I took his car to work and spoke to garage again who are going to look at mine on Tuesday. Not quite the plan but there or there abouts....
...then...
Go out to mine today to nip out to get some veg for the week (the sun was shinning:o) and my car now won't start - where did that come from !!
So in summary my car has now got to go into the garage to have the wipers fixed and the non starting sorted. I fear the wipers won't be cheap but I'll have a chat and explain the imminent sale and can they just do what they can to get them working! I fear that I'll be £500 worse off by the time the car comes out of the garage. Unlike my OH's old car it will be worth our while spending this its just we don't have it at present. The car fund has been wiped out by OH's brakes, new insurance on FIL's car and this weeks car bill.
Thinking positively we've clearly made the right decision on our car and we are in the very lucky position of being able to borrow a car UFN however I so wish I wasn't having to fork out but thats life I guess. This road to being DF was never going to be easy....I'll be battling until the zero's appear on all the credit cards.Working Hard to be Debt Free - one day :A soonDFW Long Hauler 74; Mortgage overpayments MFiT-2 challenger 100Total Nov07 £36000, Sep10 £1623:o:)0 -
I was gloating this week as OH had to tax his car. It wasn't until I was cleaning mine I realised it was mine that needed taxing. £220 thankyou very much. Tis done now. I hate cars.

Lucielle cars are like men can't live with 'em can't kill 'em! i mean live without 'em!
You are right they cause the most stress in our lives, but are such a necessary evil we are totally stuck without them I depend on mine totally.
Bad news for you WH but hopefuly this will be your last motoring bill for a while cgxCC Debt: Jan 10 £21,660 now £8,170 hurrah!0 -
morning wide awake. Working that's crap about the car who knows the garage may buy it from you if they know your selling hehe. I was meant to be wirhing an early extra today but they didn't really need me so that's ok. So oh went to see his nan she gave a cheque for 100 quid cos she loves us she said so in the pot that goes. I am too excited to pay for wedding then I can start smashing into the other numbers woo xI AM A MONEY MAGNET, THEY ARE MAKING MORE MONEY FOR ME AS WE SPEAK:pMIKES MOB, DFW NERD 1071, DFW LHS 132!MIRACLES HAPPEN I'VE SEEN IT WITH MY OWN EYES.
